  1. I get that part. You're thinking about sliding someone into the middle of the zone who can orchestrate or score. Today at least, that might not have been the biggest problem. You face the only other 0-2 team in the tournament, who's been recently scoring 60's, maybe 70's....and you give up 91 points. I was bothered by one thing that Coach did in the postgame. He harped on the "freshman" factor for our failure today, but did so after a game where a freshman on the opposing team scored 30 points.
  2. Seriously? The guy who has ZERO assists and 7 turnovers? And a foul total that doubles his point total?
  3. I think it's probably way too early to conclude that we're just bad away from home. It's the level of competition. Take a look at how bad the seasons are turning out so far for most all of the teams we've played at home.
  4. I bet he was livid when they overturned it. I feel bad for him. He missed plenty of action this season for situations that were much milder, and far more questionable than what we saw on this play on Tuesday. Some of the posts above describe the college rule, if you want to read it.
  5. Have you ever been to an OU sporting event in Athens? They do it all game long. The jackasses are the people in Columbus, who are Ohio STATE, and insist that they are O-H-I-O.
  6. There's absolutely no question about that. He obviously just wants to be a jerk.
  7. Either way. The reason I like that frozen image is because it definitively shows the position of the defender at the moment of impact.
  8. His head is down, and his helmet smacks his face mask, and turns his head sideways. And that's before any other part of the defender made contact. The image shows it clearly. Don't give us the crap that he was dipping his shoulder in some attempt to make it look like he was intending to hit his body with his shoulder. Listen to the commentators unquestionably stating that they were expecting an ejection. How one feels about the abilities of their team's players should have ZERO to do with the judgement of what happened on this particular play. But I will tell you that a player who would be characterized as well-disciplined wouldn't do something that dirty, and that late. Seems right on par for your coach who's already has a bad reputation for years, knowingly wanted to run up the score, and doesn't seem to have any hesitation to immaturely call an opponent's top-level administrator a Dick in front of his child, at a press conference. Maybe you have no knowledge of how vital it is for college athletic programs to rely upon their fraternity-like relationships with other administrators and coaches Please, come back here and tell us what you think of your now-beloved coach when he does jump ship on you guys, and hangs all of you out to dry.
  9. Unfortunately, I've seen it far too often, for far too long. I just needed to vent. But, I'll anticipate the extensive coverage and features we will see in the coming days, before and after the Suckeye's meaningless game.
  10. I just noticed that the ABJ sports article about our bowl games shows that it was written by "Beacon Journal / Ohio.com". I wonder if that means that they sent anyone at all down to Florida to follow us for a Bowl Game? To me, that would be the ultimate "we don't care about the Zips" gesture of all time. Geez.
  11. Just for the record, nobody would have let me anywhere near an Honors facility back in my academic days. Good for you, Zippy5. Maybe it will get to that point. Just for perspective, people were just starting to learn about Personal Computer when I was in college, and we were still playing Pong and Space Invaders on a TV screen.
  12. Every time I hear that "Mele Kalikimaka" song during the Christmas season, it makes me instantly think of that movie. And that's also a shout-out to our Zips Nation member out there in Hawaii too
  13. I would agree with this statement, for the most part. But, you don't even need "flash" to stoke the ambitions of an AD. Always be ready for the unexpected.
  14. I like this image, because that was the 2nd thing that stood out to me....The top of his helmet hits Van's face mask. And I believe that was the first thing to make contact with him. I still can't imagine that being overturned. It seems to fit every criteria. Of course, the 1st thing that stood out to me was that the hit was incredibly late.
  15. You may have been able to make a much better case for that in 2005, rather than this year. After winning the first two, we controlled our own destiny the rest of the way, and got the wins we needed. Even if some of us (including me) can say that some very, very timely opponent mistakes went our way in games like WMU and Buffalo, I think I'd still say "It's about time some went the Zips' way for a change". We earned this title.
  16. I think we're getting more of a picture of why you would not want to play a bowl game as a true Road Team, like we just faced. If you watch the video, you can hear all of the reporters laughing after Kiffin makes that idiotic statement in front of his child. That's because those are FAU's reporters who cover the school and the coach all the time, and they are just as culpable. We were in a difficult environment, and I am starting to understand maybe why some of our people may have reacted unprofessionally.
  17. Yep. That Miami loss would have probably been a colossal black mark on this season for all of us, if we didn't beat OU the following week.
  18. Yes, that was what he was responding to.
  19. I'm aware of that. I included BG because we had consistently lost to them for so long. Same with WMU. And that road win against Western was a HUGE road win under some very difficult circumstances.
  20. I would never agree that "Akron got destroyed, so maybe there's plenty of playing time available there" is the impression you want to leave with potential recruits. But heck, maybe some of them liked our people, or liked our uniforms or mascot, or something. Hopefully we got something positive out of it.
  21. No, but calling him "George Van Dick", with your little kid sitting next to you, is a total idiot move.
  22. But, breaking through with long-overdue wins over BG, Western, and OU will play to his credit as well. That's why I've pointed that out many times. The problem is that the guy running the show obviously doesn't feel that this is the problem with the offense. So, I do agree with those who feel that our leadership should make Bowden closely and objectively evaluate his staff that's going to stay with him. I bet that his brother and Chuck would be much more difficult to part with than Milwee.
  23. Correct. Such as, liberals using and creating labels such as hater, bigot, homophobe, xenophobe, etc., to describe anyone with a more conservative position on an issues. Yet, they are persistent in their pleas for understanding and tolerance of their own beliefs.
  24. Then, when we accomplished something that was unreachable for us for 12 years, I don't understand why you'd feel as if it means nothing.
