U of Akron Zips v. SUNY at Buffalo Bulls 2/24/17

I think he has realized that every time he touches the ball, defenders sprint full speed to the 3-line. A drive or two should give him some better shots down the line. -

We can all talk about how Noah is not performing, but KD consistently talks about how much he loves Noah's game. I don't see him leaving his major role in the rotation any time soon. -
I can't even imagine how awful it must be to be around Dambrot right now.
-
He was not even close to straight up. That was at least a 45 degree angle.
-
Big Dog honestly looks like he isn't trying for the second straight game. Last time, he got pissed off and started to take over the game in the second half. We really need him to do that again here.

One thing to watch for the next couple of games is Antino's health. He mentioned in the post game radio interview that he almost sat out this game because of a bad toe. I never would have guessed that he was hurt from his game today, but a toe injury could really mess up a player that relies on his quickness as much as Antino.

According to ESPN, attendance was 3,365

About 5 minutes before tip.

It has been sad to see how his season has gone, but I still have high hopes. My guess is that he will have a big MAC tournament. He still has plenty of time to get healthy and none of the teams will be expecting much from him. With 3 games in 3 days, Big Dog is going to need a break, so he will have a lot of opportunities.

When Utomi goes 5-5 from three and gives us 19 points, this team is pretty hard to beat.

nope

This is the Zips offense that I know and love!

Tavian has such quick hands on defense. Some of his little jab steals are just beautiful to watch.

Its true that some of the chanting is abysal. It is what I was worst at as the president at games. I always felt really awkward starting them, hoping and praying that people would follow. I am a much bigger fan of the natural taunts and cheers as a reaction to the game, instead of the chants that start at the beginning of a possession. -

I'm not saying that everything is perfect, I just get frustrated when people call out the ROWDIES leadership, for all of the attendance woes, here and anywhere else. Those students are the ones that are trying. They should be applauded. It is easy to forget that the ROWDIES is not run by athletics and their leaders are not university employees. Everything they do is entirely volunteer work done because they love UA. -

The way it works now is that there is somebody with wristbands standing next to the student entrance. Any student can take a wristband and sit on the floor, until they run out. Most games a ROWDIES member goes into the upper level about 5 minutes into the game to practically beg students to come down. Very few people want to sit on the floor, they find it more fun to sit up top and talk to their friends in peace. On the floor you basically have to stand up, because the person in front of you is standing. -

They can, the ROWDIES just don't advertise it. -

Once again, people are falling for the trap the the ROWDIES are the student section. The ROWDIES are just a student org, not run by athletics, that tries to make games more fun for its members. The ROWDIES are happy to have any student join them at the games. Anyone can sit in the floor seats. Anyone can cheer. The ROWDIES just tend to be the students that do care and are the most visible. -

I wouldn't know this year, but my years had a few hundred more members than the years before. Its still much lower than the best years, but there has been a decent rebound lately. -

As a person that has been a leader in the ROWDIES, this is one of the biggest back-and-forths we would get in. The freshman would all want to have theme nights and all of the other ideas that worked in high school. All of the older students would talk about how awful that sounded and how they had no desire to "dress up". In the end, we decided that it was not worth it to potentially gain a couple of new faces, but drive away the known quantities. -
I've always found these videos pretty fun, so I thought I would share it.

They are tied for second. If CMU is not relevant in the MAC this year, then I don't know who is outside of Akron.
-
I hate to go against Big Dog, but I agree that unless something drastic happens, Keene will win in a landslide. CMU is really a 1.5 player team. Outside of Keene, with a little help from Rayson, the Chips have no one. He is making them relevant pretty much single-handed.

Antino and Jimond both attacking the rim early. I've even seen a drive or two by Josh. Our offense is pretty darn good when that happens. Just need to do it consistently.
