  1. from your blog:In Boyage’s defense, he did apologize soon after sending the email for the personal attacks. This is not true. he did not send me an apology until 11 o clock that night..... ONLY after he knew people had sent it to all the media outlets and to the newspapers. The apology was about as worthless as a counterfit 20$ bill in my opinion, because we all know he only did it to cover his butt!
  2. I second that....... it will become my new facebook pic ha ha if its ok with you uazip
  3. We will likely have 6 in the NFL next season. Maybe more?Dwight Smith, Jason Taylor, Chase Blackburn, Charlie Frye, Dominik Hixson and soon to be Andy Alleman. Ryan Myers has hung around the Jets lately and Matt Cherry was on the Raven's IR this year. Luke is a long shot. we also had victor green who retired from the jets last season who was an akron zip.and did anyone see the nice article they had in todays beacon bout the zips, and how they are working to get the team chemistry that they had bad in 05 when they won the MAC. The players and coaches even let it be known that last year, not everyone was on the same page an there were more people worried bout personal stats. Things will change this year.
  4. The topic discussion was about the Zips schedule and the Austin Peay Bracketbuster, not the NCAA's. Our soft non-conf schedule coupled with our record at the time of the Bracketbuster selection is why we got Austin Peay, and not a upper-tier MVC school (or similar).20+ win A-P wasn't bad either. Just because we thumped them hard at the JAR doesn't mean they suck. We thumped most teams there. The #1 goal of the MAC this offseason should be to get the NIT issue addressed. definatly agree
  5. thats not what scott williams said at the beginning of the telecast. he is the one who said he talked to the trainers an they suggested he just rest his back so thats why he wasent with the team, that is the first i heard bout him not being on the bench cuz of a sports coat lol.
  6. the answer is yes he has, while he was an assistant at OSU under Jim Obrian, a fan brought a sign that he made to the game that said somthing about the wrong obrian retired ( meaning the one fron the boston celtics) and he went into the crowd with another assistant and confronted the kid ( who was in hs at the time)... at least this is what i got from the story that i read about it.
  7. yes they beat the kings 124-100 and he wasent on the bench because he was told by the training and coaching staff to rest his back, sitting in the chair for the length of the game would probably aggrevate the injury
  8. yea i bet he wishes he was able to go back and redo it all over. He gave up a job with a whole lot of talent and it is easy to recruit, for BG....
  9. maybe i should forward the rude and unprofessional email I received back from mr boyages, and see how they feel about it. I would also forward the joke of an apology to them if they would like, because we all know the only reason that i got an apology is because this guy had to cover his butt and knew the email would get to media outlets all over.
  10. They did say that they would have akron as a 10 seed if they were to win the MAC Championship. The only reason miami got such a low seed is because their bad record. they were 15 and 14 in the regular season. They would have taken into consideration ( had we won the mac) that we beat Oral Roberts, Niagra who both got into the tourney.
  11. I heard he was asked to either step down or he would be fired. Cant state coach Jim Christian is now talking to Utah about their coaching position. Cant AD spent the weekend with the AD from Utah and was asked for permission to talk to coach christian and it was granted. that shows how loyal Cant are to their coaches, if it were me an they asked ( after we just gave him an extension) i wouldsnt allow it. they did the same thing for gary waters, and stan heath.
  12. I still think he is not the guy for the job. If he cant take it when fans tell them how they feel or ask for explanations, then he is in thr wrong buisness. He has showed not once but twice that he cant handle being critiqued!
  13. From what i heard, they dont show interest in a school while it is in a conference already. The school applies to join the conference and then they review it and then make their decision. They dont go out looking for schools to join. I may be wrong, but that is what i was told.
  14. Im sure they will make the correct one. All of the zips nation have got to have faith that they will do whats best for the University,Athletes and their fans.
  15. A 10 seed, and we would be hearing our name as a team to look out for, cuz just like KD said, i know we can play with alot of the teams in the tourney. And had we got into the NIT, IMHO we would have won it all......... and the NIT committee doesnt want to see a "small" school like Akron winning it all, cuz that would make the high majors look bad!
  16. like someone previously stated, with our budget we would be in the negative. I really like playing Cent State Each year, and if we are to leave the MAC in sure that they would have a grudge and not sign us anymore.
  17. you forgot to mention Bardo. I have heard alot of good things about how he has grown this season, put on some weight and add to the fact that he is 6'10.... thats always a plus in this league.
  18. Hey did anyone see in the paper that OSU only has a graduation rate of 10% for its basketball players..... yes that is 10%, no i didnt forget to add another zero onto the end of that.... how pathetic!
  19. NO FOUL.......... what a joke, they were assaulting him all night an getting away with it, i dont know whos calls were worse, these officials or the NIT's call not to select us as an at large
  20. Then maybe after that 2 seconds he should have sent another email saying he was sorry for the way he acted and the rude things he said....... and not wait until 11:00 at night when he knows that his email was sent to all the university of Akron reps, and to all the major media outlets! Like I said before, it seems like just an apology to cover his butt, and not one he wanted to send because he knew he was wrong.
  21. This is a quote from boyages in the report:As for the complaint that MAC referees are not up to par, Boyages adds that "there is no such thing as a MAC official. All the referees are independent contractors. We use the same officials who work games for the Big East, Big Ten and other conferences. Our director of officials, Sam Lickliter, does a tremendous job and we work together to evaluate the officials after every game with the support of observers. We assess their performance in the offseason as well." So why doesn't the MAC, or other conferences, have their own dedicated officials? Boyages explains, "It really comes down to the cost of insurance. Only the largest conferences would be able to afford hiring their own officials and even they shy away because of the cost." if this is true, then how can dambrot say that when nevada came to play at our place, they brought "their" officials, because nevada isnt in one of the "big" conferences.PS. I went over and corrected my mistakes before i sent this, dont want some certain MAC official coming to the board, reading it and sending me more nasty and rude emails.
  22. I may be wrong, but I only think he sent the email saying sorry to cover his butt. It was a nice gesture, but after what he said i dont think it was his choice to send it... i think he did it out of pressure he got from people forwarding thre first E Mail onto the AD and other media outlets. but he did say sorry, so i got to take it for what it is.
  23. We are on the right track with the football program. Never before have we signed 7 3 star prospects in the same class ( depending on what source you use). With the addition of the new football stadium things will change for the better. The University will generate more revenue because there will be more sporting event being held there (I heard they were talking about moving some of the HS state championships to the new stadium when its done). If we were to have a stadium on the campus, more and more recruits would be taking a longer and harder look at the university then we are doing now. And IMHO this next years football team will without a doubt compete for the MAC title. Our defense will be solid with the addition of new recruits, and our offense will come alone thru the season, but we have the talent to put points on the board. we will just have to see.
  24. Next year, we will be deeper then we were this year with the addition of the recruits swiech, steward, and mcknight.Next year we will have more size then this year, with 2 players who are 6'10 (bardo and swiech)Next year we will have the same, if not more speed then this year with the addition of steward at PG(he is averaging 8.6 assists in HS)here is my thoughts on the starting line up.Middelton (backup will be steward)Dials Wood ( mcknight brothers as back ups)MilumBardo/Sweich (Not sure who will start in this pos)
  25. Dear Tim,I would like to take this opportunity to apologize for my response to your email. I should have limited my comments to only an explanation of the events. The other remarks were inappropriate and I am sorry to have offended you. Sincerely, R. BoyagesI also noticed that he forwarded this same email to Mack, guess he just wanted to show him that he did apologize.
