Why is 77, Gray, playing. He may be large, but he is awful.
-
OMG, missing the kick.
-
Defensive Line continues to be awful. Need to go to a 4 man front and then hit the transfer portal for at least 3 players for next year.
-
Where are the fans and the comments. Too much apathy tonight.
-
Wow! what a great return. Good blocking and great running. Zips are still in the game.
-
Why put Irons in when Gibson is doing so well. It shows Rodriguez is incompetent.
-
Please provide the details on how you came to this completely illogical conclusion. I would love to change my perception based on details and facts. I am looking forward to them.
-
You are right. He should be number 2 or 1.

That is how successful businesses work. Did OSU hire a search firm before hiring Day, 'No'. They had their succession plan in place. A search firm may confirm the choice and look for more details on the potential condidate. If Akron needs to use a search firm, then please fire Guthrie. He will be more incompetent than Ianello.

All you have to do is read the posts on this forum, and you will quickly see that most of the men who post know nothing about football and have never played sports at a level higher than T-ball or little league. Go zips

Unfortunately, I agree with your assessment. That is too bad, I see a lot of hope with Gibson and Jankowski. So, the several year rebuild will begin again.

Thank you for your very kind response (not being cynical_). Part of me agrees with you, and part of me does not. I do think we need to get the program to be competitive with OSU and Auburn. As I got home and rewatched the game, the announcers kept talking about all of the seniors with Ball State. We have basically none, except the kicker who made a terrible penalty near the end of the game, and he is here 6 years I believe. So, we were at a major disadvantage. As I have stated many times, Arth was dealt a very bad hand with little to no talent returning. HIs strategy was to grow through recruits which I am guessing was an agreement between him and the prior AD. I truly believe he did a much better recruiting job than Bowden, but he did not use the portal, which was his downfall. With his late start his first year, and the Covid year, he was behind the 8 ball. I truly think that we have some good young players on the roster. I would have given him one more year even though I have been very critical of him at times. However, it seems like Guthrie is a very arrogant and controlling AD who wants his people involved. It is like the NFL, when a GM and coach are replaced, many on the roster are gone. He is trying to make his mark, and I hope he does, but I have little faith in that person. With the youth and experience, if the next coach does not win 6 games in his first year, I would can Guthrie and send his useless @$$ packing. Assuming we retain the current players (big assumption), we should be good at QB (Gibson, Jankowski), RB (norells, williams), WR, and I believe that the entire FR offensive line will grow. Need to add some transfers. On Defense, the line needs help, the LB's will be fine with Bubbas return, and the DB's are maturing. Again, get some transfers on the DL and DB's. Go Zips! I hope for the best, but with Guthrie, I see nothing but bad times ahead.

60-10 45-24 59-7 34-17 34-21 45-10 Not blown out? what universe have you been in? I will agree that there is alot of young talent on the roster. Arth is leaving more talent than he inherited, unless there is a mass exodus to the transfer portal. Keep the current players, add 5 transfer portal players to both the offense and defense, and we can win next year.

If Guthrie has any value as an AD, he should have been working on a succession plan for every head coach at the University. That way, if anyone moves on (promotion or firing), he has a list of candidates that he approves and he can go down the list to hire the one who wants to come to Akron. If he does not have plans in place that are updated several times a year, Guthrie should be fired immediately. This is how good business' work. The teams are sports, the AD is running a business.

Absolutely..... After watching the show, this is 24 minutes of my life that I will never get back.
-
Not a bad thing. It shows that at least one commit is being recruited by another big time school and this shows that for this person, Arth has finally recruited some talent.

I am not faulting the coaching staff for this situation. Not too long ago, we had Gest, Dollard, Williams, and Norrils. I thought we were loaded at that position short and long term.
-
There should be a new number 1.
-
Due to the incompetence of the concession stand, they did not return.

Please explain the similarities. I do not see it so I need an explanation so that I can understand your point. Akron does not have near the number of 4 star players. The only similarity that I see is that both teams have a former NFL player as a head coach.

Ditto, I about had a coronary thinking that he entered the portal. Bubba is the epitome of the athlete who gives it his all. He is udersized, but plays with great passion. If he was larger, he would be a regular on Sundays.

First, I agree with 94zipgrad regarding the questions. But that is not the issue that bothers me the most about this interview. If you watch the video, Arth is very somber for most of the interview. He does talk positively about the wide receivers. However, the only time that he got excited is when he was talking about the Suckeyes. He stated that he grew up in Ohio and talked about the shoe with passion and excitement. This makes me sick. I have been a critic but also a vocal supporter of Arth since he got to Akron. I have reported in the past that a friend of mine's son was all state in high school, went to John Carrol and did not see the field with Arth as coach. After Arth left, he made all conference. This situation caused me to question his coaching and talent evaluation abilities. Based on Arth's passion for the $uckeyes, I now am an ardent supporter that he he must be fired immediately. Or if that will not happen, the AD and President of the U must leave him in Columbus next weekend. Go Zips.
