zippyfan34
Not a big hockey fan but am at home rooting for the MAC's Redhawks. They just took a 2-1 lead with 7 minutes to go. Hoping they can hang on.
Blue & Gold
Go Rehawks! They're now up 3-1 with under 4 minutes to play!(This serves to make me mad about the crazy fact that we're not meeting in football AGAIN this year!)
Blue & Gold
Boston U scored 2 goals in the final one and one-half minutes to send the game into overtime.

MDZip
What a gut punch game for Miami (has a MAC team ever won a National Title in any sport? Someone had to somewhere along the line, didn't they?). Tough loss in a title game, they can join Zips soccer in 86 as runners-up. A small bit of irony even though it was hockey (and not against us) but they were up by two with less than a minute to go and were finally beaten on a "bank shot" (deflected off of one of their players). I guess I jinxed 'em. 2 goals in 42 seconds. 59 seconds and 17 seconds to play. I think this just showed how good BU was -- they refused to lose.Bowling Green won the NCAA title in hockey back about 1985 or 86, I think it was. Not sure if the MAC has any other team titles, but I feel one coming on at the men's soccer cup.

Dr Z
What comes around, goes around. I'm hoping that a few of their fans were at that game that were at the MAC championship game when I felt like someone punched me in the gut. This one had to feel like two punches in the gut though
Let'sGoZips94
Did anyone see the winning goal? It was just like Miami's bank shot in a way: TOTAL LUCK! The Miami player slid in front of the guy shooting. The puck hit the leg of the sliding player and spun in the air. It kind of curved itself around of the goalie and into the goal. It was totally hilarious. If it doesn't hit the player's leg, the goalie stops it.

Zip_ME87
Boston U won 4-3 in overtime. Oh well, great, nerve-racking game. We'll bring the MAC a national championship on the pitch next year!I don't believe Miami would have brought the MAC a National Championship. I think they are in the CCHA for hockey. UAZips
I laughed when I saw what happened. It has to feel 10X worse to get beat like Miami did. National Championship GameWe lost on one shot. They had a TWO goal lead with less than a minute left. Then to lose on such a lucky shot in overtime......Oh well. They deserve it

I was watching a little of the frozen four preview the other night because Miami was in it, and they never mentioned or showed Miami when I was watching. Captain Kangaroo
I was watching a little of the frozen four preview the other night because Miami was in it, and they never mentioned or showed Miami when I was watching.I noticed the announcers CONSTANTLY talking about Boston U's "talent." Every play BU made was due to their "talent." Miami was ip 3-1 with 59 seconds remaining and the announcers never once strung the words "Miami" and "talent" together in a sentence. It reminded be of the Boise State/Oklahoma game. The entire game, every time after Oklahoma made a great play, they blurted "Now you can see where the talent and depth of the Big 12 is taking over...". How'd that work out?I hate announcers in Mid-major vs. Major events. The mid-major never gets any respect.BTW - I do realize Miami is a Top NCAA hockey program. But they aren't Boston U. MDZip
But yet this was Boston University, not Boston College, so outside of Hockey they would be mid-major at best. No FBS football, and America East in basketball. Does the MAC (and CCHA) play second fiddle to everyone else? And if Miami and others can play in the CCHA for hockey, why can't we gather up everyone in the MAC, Kentucky and South Carolina (I think those are the SEC soccer playing schools) and a few other stragglers and make our own soccer conference (at least until the MAC gets more soccer schools, we already have two outsiders anyway). Vanguard Soccer Conference anyone?
