I'm gonna go:

1. JUCO / Ivey

2. Ivey / Dalton

3. Utomi / Parrish

4. I. Williams / Jackson

5. Poke / Sayles

Switch Ivey and Utomi and I think you are on point. IMO, Ivey is a 1 or a 3 due to his slashing ability. Utomi, now that there is no way he plays as an out of position 4, is a natural 2. His high-arcing jump shot is basketball orgasim when that goes in (which it does at a high clip).

Sales isn't a 5, but between him/Jackson/Williams, somebody will likely have to play some minutes there (barring a JUCO). But, IMO, may not be a horrible thing since this team (especially under Groce) will thrive next year if it can get up and down the court.

There was a Judge who told a defendant complaining about the length of his sentence:

"Your Parole Officer has not been born yet".

We are in a similar situation. At the moment, we have NO idea who is going to be on this team next season. We just have to wait and see. It might be what people are posting above, it might be 5 or 6 brand new names we have never heard.

It might be fair to say that our next point guard has not been offered yet.

And a program, unless they are losing players left and right like Akron, was extremely young last year and would return its top 9 players in terms of minutes played. I have no doubt that Antino would get minutes at LSU, but I very much doubt it would be the 35 he would get next year in Akron.

I doubt these games are sitting well with the coach and the loyal players.  So my guess would be that Antino has burned his bridge and is done.  His little pass through at Groces presser was poor form.  He can go.

Bridges can be rebuilt. And maybe you have some inside knowledge that (admittedly) I don't, but I think the guys who have not wavered would accept Antino back if he decided to stay. I think they would ultimately realize he's a player who can help this team and bury whatever hatchet there is right now.

If Antino comes to his senses and wants to stay JG would be a fool not to want him.

I understand the desire to keep him here, but if he really passed thru Groce's presser and left then he made his actions all about him. That's disrespectful to our coach and we are not so desperate that we need him, and that attitude, for only a year. The negative chemistry that could result is not worth the risk. Next year will be tough with or w/o him. If he can't be all in we don't want him.

Do we know what those circumstances were? The presser was at 11 a.m. on a Thursday. Maybe the reason Antino only briefly stopped through was because he had a class to get to. I don't know if that is the case, but I think even Joe Dunn alluded to that possibility during his radio show that day.

The fact that Antino is still (even if it's only a 5 percent chance) considering returning, I doubt he seriously only showed up to the presser with the intent to show up Groce.

Just do what Ohio State fans do when you tell them how bad their basketball program sucks.  Try to argue that they won a title 59 years ago.

I think you're right on.  This coach needs to save all of the talent that he can.  Especially a Sr. PG.  If not, he's knows that his chances of a very slow start is much greater.

I don't quite know why some people are being so critical of the situation, and insinuating that he's "playing games", etc.  He's a guy who is probably transferring, but might be reconsidering.  Happens all the time.  Just like the discussions we've already been having, we have fans, donors, sponsors, players....everyone involved....in a cloud of uncertainty right now.  We've been fortunate that we've been in such a period of stability for so long.  We're just not accustomed to this.

Let's all hope we're not judged on some of the quick decisions we made at that age.

Quick and/or Stupid.  We surely all had plenty of them.

I actually just recently got reminded of this while participating in an event where area business execs met with soon-to-be college graduates to give them advice on their futures. And every time I've done something like this, I'm reminded that I am way too far removed from that age to understand their thinking about their future career life, and feel somewhat powerless to be able to alter it in any significant way.

For the most part, kids will think like kids until they are old enough to understand things differently.

Amen Skip.  I wasn't happy when I heard about Antino breezing through the presser, but he's a kid who's had no controversy in 3 years at UA and as I recall is on schedule to graduate early.  Getting to class or another obligation is just as plausible an explanation as disrespect at this point.

Just that part, alone, surely puts him ahead of many higher end D-1 college basketball players, in terms of fulfilling his obligation and respecting what he's been given here.

Unless I hear about him bashing the NCAA or anyone else who affords him this opportunity, or posts "Ain't Come to Play School" on his twitter page, he's OK in my book.

Ironic that in one post you are saying "kids will be kids" and then in this one holding a comment a kid made against him for the rest of his life. BTW, even after leaving for the NFL early, "Ain't come to play school" continued to take classes and is graduating May 7th. I've got serious respect for any kid, especially an inner city kid who once made immature comments like that, that has learned from it and is doing something most players who leave college early don't in going back to school and getting his degree even when he doesn't need it. I'd hope you would too.

Don't let facts get in the way of someone trying to get their personal agenda a crossed.

Thanks for the perspective brought to this thread regarding my comment on Antino's actions at the presser. Many of you are right. I do not know the circumstances and have been quick to judge. This transition has been different than any coaching change I have ever experienced. Some stupid things have been said on this thread I believe more out of frustration than insight. My comment can be lumped in the former category also. I regret it. I'm going to trust that Groce has a plan and he is working on it. That's all we can ask of a new coach. The rest is just guessing and that can get us all into trouble and not help the progrum.
