I seem to remember a tweet by Dalton shortly after the departure of KD saying he intended to transfer -- can't recall if he said to Duquesne or not.  But on another track, I am hearing some of those rumors that Hilltopper and Skip-zip are referring to.  Dambrot's decision was not entirely his own.

Not true.

That's nearly exactly what Sullivan did a couple of years ago.  It worked out well for him.  He played a year at Lakeland, scored 20 ppg, and then got his scholarship to a 4 yr. school and earned all-conference honors by the time he reached his Sr. year.

I don't understand why someone was laughing about this route either.

And let me add this, since were on the subject of "sub par recruiting".  Dambrot nabbed Sullivan as a 2nd Team All-Ohio player in D-I , and he was even 3rd Team All-Ohio in Division 1 as a Junior.   Again, just another reason why fans shouldn't base recruiting success on the accolades that someone had in High School.  Everything can change at the next level.  That's why we've had so many players do well here that didn't come in with high accolades.  That's why asst. coaches are payed to evaluate players themselves, and don't recruit based on the number of high school honors awarded.

This is so true and not appreciated enough.  Dambrot and his staff recruited well - you don't do what they did with "sub par recruiting" at a mid major school.

Called dat (PG). Offer list seems to be largely low major outside of us.

At the very least, its another body in a spot where everyone seemed to think we needed another one.  You never know who's going to perform, so at least it would be another option.

According to the latest stats, he is listed at 6'0" and 160. That is not bad for an incoming freshman PG. With a lot of luck maybe he will grow another inch or two.

This forum loves nicknames.  Maybe we should call Virshon "Tank".

Yes, Maybe he will grow another inch or two.  But the mistake would be if you assume that he's actually presently 6' tall.

His official team roster even lists him at 6'1" and 175. But we all know that only means that he is about 4'11" and weighs the same as a toddler.

That's good for over-the-top humor.  But I hope it's not scoffing at the reality of how badly "listed heights" are often exaggerated.  I've been there.

Yes, listed heights have been wrong, but I don't understand never believing a listed height. Is it only a PG phenomenon, or were Big Dog and Kwan both about 6'7" last season?

Anything around 6' is solid, average height. His body looks like it has some maturing yet to do, so I'm not worried. Get him in a college weight room, and let him go to town.

I'm most excited about his selflessness and vision on the hardwood. He looks like a real facilitator.

If the fan of any MAC basketball program frets over a listed 6' point guard solely because of his height, they are following the wrong conference.

Hey...in his bio picture he looks like he's 12 years old, so maybe he has a little growth left in him?

I am sorry for getting the ball rolling on this whole subject but I am pretty sure in my entire lifetime I have never seen a college age kid walking down the sidewalk at 5'11" & 150# that I would say "That kid's got good size".

I'll agree with this 100% if you change "have been" to "almost always are".   And they aren't "wrong" because of an inadvertent error or mistake.  The players who are looking to be recruited do it.  And coaches at the college level looking for any psychological advantage do it every single season.  If any of them don't, they are simply disregarding an advantage that nobody will ever be able to disprove.
