So how do we know or determine that the 4 or 5 guys that "jumped on board" this weekend are any good or will fill the voids.  For example, are these guys the needed size for these positions?

Woodbendy Guerrier, DB, 6-0, 195

Eric Scott, DB, 6-2, 200

Nazir Sy, DL, 6-3, 306

George Qualls, WR, 6-2, 190

We are hurting so bad now, at least I am, that I pray these guys are legit DI difference makers. That would be a nice early Christmas present if true. My gut tells me that they are run of the mill to below average. The good ones are going to better and winning programs. I hope my gut is wrong, but unfortunately over the last several days it has taken on a life of its own. Thank God leftovers are nearly done and I can get it under control.

Right.  Looking for the players who can get the Zips to 3-9 not 9-3.

The size on them look good for their respective positions. Their size doesn't really speak to their athletic ability or skill level however. I'd have to believe the staff believes these guys can step in and contribute right away. That doesn't mean any of them are going to be winning any All-MAC awards.

I came a crossed the below chart on reddit and figured I'd share. Someone who has a lot more free time than I do went through every single MAC signee and counted up how many other MAC offers they had.

Akron signed 22 players and those 22 players had a combined 4 other MAC offers. 21 players we offered signed with other MAC schools. In and of itself I don't think it means the world as a lot of our best recruits came from areas that other MAC schools aren't actively recruiting (JUCO & Georgia), however, I do think it's telling that we're missing out on a lot of the best talent in our home area. If you look at the below chart, you'll see the teams that have the highest MAC offers per commit are typically the teams that consistently perform the best. Toledo and WMU both seemed to have killed it on the recruiting trail by each of their signings having an average of 3.6 & 4 MAC offers.
