I agree with zippy5.  We beat them up.  I feel the same way he does on the running game, but I think Kato will have just enough of a pass protection to keep him in the pocket just long enough that the rest of the team beats him for combined rushing yards.  Andre is stepping up, as he said, and Kwads is still nursing an injury, so I like AW here as well.  I actually think we may have a special teams TD in it as well (do I get bonus points if we do?)

Yes, I like it!

I think we win this game, but only by the slimmest of margins. The 2018 version of the Zips has been very underwhelming in MAC play. I was very high on them after Northwestern, but then the bottom fell out. Central is about as good as Kent. On paper, we are better, but won't necessarily play like it. I'm picking the Zips to win 20-17. Defense saves the day again! BTW, I am flying in from California tomorrow and would like to tailgate with you guys. Where should I meet and what time? Looking forward to it!

I predict we go five wide this week, screw the running game

We won't, but I wish we would. It seems pretty clear that we are not going to improve this year and that the run game hinges on Council.

I wish Bowden/Milwee would actually make legitimate use of the H-back/tight end as an offensive weapon.

I think they are trying to. Kobe Booker got nice usage last year. The problem now is that they seen to be content on sending Newman Williams out in passing routes rather than Wolfley, who has shown to be a much better option throughout the season.

From my understanding none of the TE are very good receiving options, just blockers, it REALLY hurt losing Booker, don’t know if Milwee will actually do it during game time but I have heard they’ve been practicing the 5 wide package but Milwee seems to stick with what he is comfortable with & not what defense dictates

Maverick Wolfley is a good receiving option.

I know he caught a touchdown in a game but from what I hear the TE screen is his best play, hands questionable down field, if he was a good option they would be using him like Booker because it was successful

You have to wonder why not? It not only gives us our best chance, but gets these young receivers running routes over and over. They need the practice.

Coaches recruit talent they need to be successful. Or at least that's what they say they will do in the interview process. Once that talent is on campus the coaches structure their offense around the talent that they recruited in order to be successful. Injuries are part of the game and need to be anticipated. Our coaches do not take the talent they recruited and put them in offensive schemes that let them play to their abilities. I feel our O coaches coach to what they are comfortable with , not to what the players can succeed in. There is no creativity, no doing things differently that the D is not prepared for. I love Bowden, but his total commitment to Milwee dumbfounds me and if that cost him his job, so be it. We should be doing better and I hope Larry Williams holds him to a higher standard than he is delivering.

He probably will:

- 4 straight Wagon Wheel wins

- 1  MAC East Championship

- 2 bowl appearances

I would be surprised if we see any changes this year, despite what happens for the rest if the season.

Most G5 schools do not have the same depth to get past injuries to key talent. We are getting better in this area, but we will never be in a league with P5 in terms of recruiting depth. There is a limited talent pool available to G5 schools and that isn't going to change.

This is probably one of the most insightful comments I have seen on this site. It has been said previously. But, coaches have to be capable of coaching up the talent THEY have recruited.

I have not seen anything, especially on offense that indicates this staff can do that.

The Zips won by seven totaling 303 yards of offense, Van out rushed Kato by himself, and Nate Stewart led receivers with 62 yards. @zzx comes close, but no winners this week. Better luck this week. Poll will be appear Tuesday for the Thursday game.
