MDZip Posted February 19, 2020 Report Posted February 19, 2020 (edited) I went onto the MAC web site for basketball stats just to see where LCJ stands, although I knew they were having trouble with his stats, they were missing games and obviously stats. Well now it appears they have given up altogether, despite the fact that for conference games Loren Cristian Jackson leads the MAC in scoring (23.0), 3 PT percentage (51%), 3 PTers made per game (3.8), 2nd in Free Throw percentage (87%), and 4th in assists (4.46), he appears exactly nowhere in any of the MAC stats. Is this is a participation trophy situation? Is he making all of the other players feel bad because he is so good so they won't list his stats any more? ? If he just keeps his averages he should win MAC player of the year. Amazing for a guy 5'8", 150. Edited February 20, 2020 by MDZip 1 Quote
AkronAlumnus Posted February 19, 2020 Report Posted February 19, 2020 Best 5'8" player in the country. Quote
Captain Kangaroo Posted February 19, 2020 Report Posted February 19, 2020 He's having an absolutely amazing season. I'm shocked when one of his shots doesn't fall. Jamie Bosley is the only Zips I could put in his offensive class. Maybe Eric McLaughlin. Quote

The thing with ESPN is I don't think you're able to split out the conference only stats to see which players have performed best in conference play. It just groups the entire season together. Quote
zippy5 Posted February 19, 2020 Report Posted February 19, 2020 sports-reference is the only place i care to go to look up stats Quote

MDZip Posted February 19, 2020 Author Report Posted February 19, 2020 (edited) My point was really don't you think the conference he plays in, you know might want to get the stats for their possible player of the year included on their own web site? Talk about looking amateurish. That reference is really good it has a ton of stats some I don't really understand but it reinforces how good LCJ has been. And that's counting all games he has been even better in conference. And by the way Deng Riak is 8th in the MAC in defensive rating. Edited February 19, 2020 by MDZip Quote
zippy5 Posted February 19, 2020 Report Posted February 19, 2020 Also, appears LCJ has 962 points in an Akron uniform at the moment. Quote

akronzips71 Posted February 19, 2020 Report Posted February 19, 2020 LCJ ONLY scored 17 last night. Terrible game LOL 1 Quote
clarkwgriswold Posted February 20, 2020 Report Posted February 20, 2020 I learned from the astute WMU announcers last night that LCJ is smaller than most basketball players Quote
NWAkron Posted February 24, 2020 Report Posted February 24, 2020 As of today, LCJ is no longer included in the MAC Conference only stats although he is included in the overall season stats.? X is the leading FT shooter at 93%. Quote

Occasionally, I thought he popped up on those stats but maybe I was only looking at the overall. Either way he's a phantom player. Quote
kreed5120 Posted February 24, 2020 Report Posted February 24, 2020 Earlier in the season he appeared in the conference only stats, but it didn't include one of his games. It's like instead of just adding the missing game, they decided to remove him entirely. Quote

AkronAlumnus Posted February 24, 2020 Report Posted February 24, 2020 As we anxiously await tomorrow’s game, I wanted to pose the question, who would be your all-MAC first team if conference play ended today? Mine would be as follows: (there is no right answer) G: LCJ G: Justin Turner F: Cheese F: Teague (big from Ball State) F: Whittington or Knapke What do you guys think? Quote
NWAkron Posted February 24, 2020 Report Posted February 24, 2020 Eugene German may replace Cheese. Similar type of slashing player. M Jackson from Toledo may not help his team out of a first round away game so he's out 1 Quote
kreed5120 Posted February 24, 2020 Report Posted February 24, 2020 First Team LCJ Turner German Teague Jayvon Graves Second Team Cheese M. Jackson Preston Flowers McKay/Pippen/Willie Jackson 1 Quote
Z.I.P. Posted February 26, 2020 Report Posted February 26, 2020 35 points in a losing effort against the #2 team on the road doesn't hurt the cause. Too bad he hasn't had much help. Something like 3-13 on threes, but has made 9 of 12 2-point baskets. Quote

His only real challenger for the award is Justin Turner and now Turner's team sits in 1st so right or wrong it's still going to hurt him some. Quote
NWAkron Posted February 29, 2020 Report Posted February 29, 2020 German missed first half of Western game for violation of team rules. He then scored 20 in 2nd half but NIU still lost. He has to be out of the running. Quote
kreed5120 Posted February 29, 2020 Report Posted February 29, 2020 I actually thought it was a 2 man race between LCJ & Turner heading into this weekends games. LCJ dropping 35 today while Turner scored 4 on 1-11 shooting might have sealed it. Quote
