Here is a little trivia. Excuse me if it has already has been said. Coach Groce knows number #24 for Wright State very, very well. Tim Finke with the hair bun is the younger brother to one of Groce's players at Illinois, Michael Finke. Michael Finke was the true stretch 4, effective inside and beyond the arch. And the family was a class act and very involved with the program. Groce was also scouting Tim Finke before he was let go at Illinois.

Nice ball movement by the Zips tonight but they've also been helped by some atrocious defense.  How many threes have to be made before you stop leaving guys open on the perimeter.  If they adjust, the Zips have to be ready to go to the basket.

As an aside, I have to say it makes me a little nuts to see a school like Wright State playing in an arena that looks far superior to our barn.

I really want to know what their average attendance is because that place is huge for a Horizon league team

I'd have no interest in Akron have a 10k+ arena. Crowds look small enough in the the 5500 arena we have now.

I heard on radio before the game that the stadium is set up for hockey. That's why it is so large.

This is quite the performance. 

 

1) This team appears to be gelling nicely.

 

2) The schedule is becoming more consistent/regular. I wonder if that is helping us find our flow/rhythm.

Agreed that they don't need an empty behemoth but I'd sure love to see a decent arena with good seating, decent sight lines and no glass and rail.  

 

I liked the block call on the charge and the charge call on the block.
