I wish I was surprised about that.

I wouldn't be surprised if more fall when the playoffs expand.

Oh for sure.  If they're not bringing ESPN enough viewership to hold them in places...and they probably aren't...then it's time to cut bait.

Interesting. I looked closely at the SBC as I think they a a good model for the MAC. AI tells me they only play during the week on Thursday night, not the ghetto days of Tuesday and Wednesday. The only two teams that had two Thursday games were Arkansas State and Georgia Southern. Neither of the teams had two home games on Thursdays. Why can't the MAC do something similar with Friday nights? The premier MAC game of the week could be on Friday night with no team having to play more than one Friday game. It could be done over 3 weeks.

I'd be interested in two pieces of information about this chart. What is the percentage of capacity for each team?  Are they showing actual attendance or tickets sold? I see UNCC has shown 15,000 fans per game. That would mean a horrible one win team is filling their stadium. I doubt that's the case. The percentage of capacity as it relates to actual crowd size is most important.

That is a great idea, in theory only. Now your direct competition is High School Football and that will be a non starter for a lot of Football fans that would have to pick between the two....

Edit: Now that I think about you idea more, lets just start playing at 9:30am on Saturday Morning as the lead in for College Gameday(as a example)

Nobody goes to Tuesday/Wednesday games.

I reject out of hand that high school football keeps stadiums from being full. It assumes the addressable market is only people who attend high school games. There are people who believe the only addressable market for college football in Ohio either go to, or watch OSU games. It's complete nonsense. BG sold out their game against Toledo this year, and the OSU vs Texas game started at exactly the same time. There is a market for people who want to attend college football games. The MAC needs to tap into it instead of being afraid of the many excuses for not doing something. The MAC needs to make it such that high schools are changing their game times for the MAC game of the week.

For the record, I think high school football is trash and haven't attended a game in over 10 years.
