Nice article by Beaven in the Beacon along with some gracious comments from Ball State's coach.  I'm nto sure GT even knows where there visitors' locker room is located.

Garvin Clarke has played well dispite low scoring

I was going to say the same . Garvin played solid defense. I would love to see him be more of a scorer on offense but he is generally a pretty good distributor of the basketball and defensively he hounded his man pretty well last night.

I agree. Garvin has bounced back nicely. I would like to see him develop a floater or a mid-range game. At least get better at the pump-fake. I don't know if anyone keeps this stat, but Garvin has to be the most blocked player in the MAC. I do like his aggressiveness attacking the lane lately.

Watched a replay of the last minute because Phelps said Groce will want to watch the tape and find out why that Ball State player was wide open for 3.

The answer:  As Ball State inbounded the ball, a Cardinal ran directly across the key and knocked Clarke to the ground. Simultaneously, another Cardinal was literally holding Tribble.  This happened directly in front of "Lerch the ref" who waved off the contact Tribble received.

It occurred right in front of me and I could not believe the no call.  They were literally blocking.  Tribble who is  former linebacker motioned to the bench he was blocked off his man.  They also missed a goal tending and a Ball State guy who had his foot on the line before a Zip got called for a foul.  This is usually a good crew.

reminded me of this:  if you click on the link, you can see the events that got 2 refs suspended.  Ball State again..AND Eastern was at home.

I remember it like it was yesterday. Didn’t even click it and I can already see Francis Kiapway making the play.

Crew last night was disappointing. 1981 is right, those are 3 good refs and had some horrid misses. Goaltend was obvious and the foot on the line was obvious.
