Love that they put these on Youtube, because nobody is watching it on Ballysports!

I record it on Ballys.  It is Must See TV during Football and Basketball season.  Joe Dunn does a nice job.  Great promo for UA - thanks to those sponsors for getting this produced for TV and YouTube.

Pretty good listen this week.

- 14-3 score late into the 3rd quarter. Not the same situation in the two P5 games last year.

- Knows the team has to push the ball downfield, but OL needs to block better and receivers have to get open. (I’d add the QB has to throw the deep ball accurately).

- Not enough explosive plays on offense.

- Still trying to find the right combination along the OL, but helps having K. Davis and N. Williams back.

- Too many penalties and coach takes the blame for that.

- Gathings had his best game.

- Wants to get Golden and Walker involved more on offense.

- Defense is playing physically and has a lot of depth on that side of the ball.

- Nunnally has been the biggest surprise on defense.

- Outside of the obvious performances, K. Thomas, McCoy, and Cooper had solid games.

- Knows the team is outalented against a team like UK. Wanted to see the team compete and give themselves a chance.

- Freshman Adrian Norton is going to be really good.

- Some talented OL are being redshirted and some really good ones committed for next year.

- Local guys Lewis and Durant played well. Wants as many local players as possible but they have to be able to play at this level and want to come here (he’s said this before).

*EDIT: Wow, I couldn't watch it. I watched for about 3 minutes & had to turn it off.  Maybe I'll be up to it later in the week?

I don’t know what’s up with the Twitter links. Here’s the direct link to YouTube.

A few takeaways:

- Defensive front 7 is playing really well. Lavea probably had his best game. Linebackers are playing lights out.

- Hopeful to get Behm and Cooper back in the rotation this week. Mentioned Griffin playing, but did not mention Murphy along the DL.

- Adler is coming on and has been reliable.

- Spoke briefly about all 3 safeties at different points - Martin, Thomas, Thompson.

- When asked about the freshmen: DE Kam Cheatom is going to be a star and DT Marcus Moore has a high upside.

- Myles Walker probably took the biggest development leap of anyone on the roster over the offseason.

- Not Wiley’s fault on the missed FG and he will be the starter again. Has made 50+ yarders in practice.

- Jackson and the punt team have been really good on punts. Haven’t given up a Net punt yard yet. Hang time has improved this year.

- Offensively, Lingard and Anderson are complimentary backs and need to get them the ball more.
- NIU is very similar us in regards to how their games have gone. Their offense hasn’t changed much from last year, but their defense is much improved under the new DC.

Is there a radio show as well?  If so can someone tell me when and what station?

I don't think there is a weekly radio show.

They are doing "A daily briefing of athletics at The University of Akron. Zips Today is produced Monday-Friday August thru March."....

Not much here that hasn’t already been discussed. However, JoeMo mentioned several times throughout the broadcast that Norton is the most talented wide receiver on the roster. Also mentioned a really good one coming in next year (Kyan Mason). HS recruiting is mostly done for this class, but expect to bring in 25-30 players total, meaning the rest will be JUCO and portal. Alex Adams is still hurt with a lingering lower body issue and not sure if he’ll be back this year. Will look to fix the issue over the offseason.

Last episode of the season. Much of what’s discussed this board has talked about at length, but worth a listen as Joe Dunn always does a great job. There is some recruiting talk near the end, though individual recruits cannot be mentioned by name until they’ve signed.

Joe Dunn could always have the fall back of being a great funeral director.

Maybe he is a zombie, as I swear he has looked the same in my 40 plus years.   i remember watching the Lee Owens show with my dad and he still doesn't seem to know how to look on camera.
