Here was hoping Moorhead would have taken the job with OSU so Akron could find someone more competent as the replacement HC. Joe is a great guy but not such a great football coach.

We'll find out this year. 2-10 won’t cut it in Year #3.

I believe in the guy. He needs to pull of at least 5 wins this fall or I'll be completely alone, like Linus in the pumpkin patch.

B'OB bails on OSU to take the HC position at Boston College, and now Chip Kelly bails on UCLA to take Ohio St OC position. Wonder where Fessler shakes out in all this. Yikes.

I thought Bill O was a stretch. Now they take a washed up Chip Kelly?

Ryan Day played for Kelly at NH, and coached under him twice I believe. It's a good fit.

A good fit for what?  Nothing you said says he's a good fit for the job he was hired to do. In fact, it's been a long time since he was a significant coach producing high level results expected at a football factory line OSU. Two words come to mind..... washed up.

Everything I said is why he's a good fit.

Ryan Day is on the hot seat in Columbus. Billy OB was an awful fit for the situation. A widely regarded asshole is going to be entrusted with helping save Day's job? No way.

UCLA is a garbage job. He is coming off 3 straight winning seasons in a PAC12 that proved to be competitive. Washed up is a pretty harsh term to use given he recent success. With him only having to focus on the offense, he may prove to be even more successful than he has been in a long time, especially given the talent on OSU's offense.

If he was the top choice, he would’ve been hired originally no?

Respectfully, you're grasping for straws. His recent success isn't very successful. He hasn't been successfully since Oregon.

Right about now is a good time to admit getting hired because of the good old boy network isn't a good reason to hire someone.

Ryan Day is finished at OSU. There is no energy in the program and a 60 year old isn't going to bring any energy. In fact he is probably coming because being OC is a pretty easy job compared to HC, and the money. Day is a smart guy and a great coordinator. That's about the extent.
