johnnyzip84
EMU up early on Washington 3-0 after a nice road win (OK it was UMass and it was expected, but an FBS road win nonetheless). We often point to Toledo as a model program to emulate, and thats understandable given the Rockets consistent success. But I would argue EMU is a better example, given how bad they were for so long before this recent string of respectability. Hell, the better answer is right in the word EMUlate 🤣. Seriously though, EMU has battled the "commuter" school image, lack of consistent winning and extremely low attendance over the years. Sound familiar? So just when we're about as down and out as we can get, consider how EMU somehow has turned it around. LZIp
Sure looks like Kent State is going to lose vs St Francis. I would laugh, but could very well be us next week vs Colgate.

The frustrations with this team in the first 2 games have to do with needing to get the small things right in order to be competitive with the P4s. We are talented and should show better vs similar or lesser competition. Kent sucks.

That is fixable where talent isn’t.
Reslife4Life
Two loses to big 10 teams isn’t indicative of a loss to Colgate. Losing to Temple the last couple years was a bigger sign. Hopefully we won’t need a miracle scoop n score next week
Let'sGoZips94
NIU up 16-14 on Notre Dame with 31 seconds to play.
Lee Adams
I guess any of us who for some reason picked Akron to beat NIU can cross off that one. NIU, thats a good football program. Has been.
MangoZip
It’s pretty depressing seeing these other MAC schools complete while Akron keeps looking like bumbling fools. BG gives Penn State all they want, NIU beats ND etc. I was feeling optimistic but now it’s feeling like another really long season
akzipper
I'm not going to say anything about Kent until we play Colgate. At this point, I'm just expecting the worst.

johnnyzip84
I was critical of our decision to schedule Colgate as our FCS home game, but it looks like the Red Raiders aren't up to their usual standards with an opening loss at Maine and getting stomped today at home by Nova 28-3. So I fully expect the Zips to win on Saturday.
