Let'sGoZips94
Gensler will probably be Guthrie's only positive, winning-record hire when all is said and done. Big fan of where he has this program headed.
Copley Don
Lady Zips fall to Tennessee State 72-68. Not sure what happened here but they have a quick turnaround and travel to Bellarmine Sunday.
ewbrooman1
I generally attend a number of women's games. I question why so many home games are starting at 6 pm. That's certainly going to reduce my attendance. I'm not doing the early bird dinners yet.
JodiKestFan
Anyone know why Kaia Woods is not playing? I assume an injury of some sort.
BlueGold Zip
Does anyone know the status of all the injured players in sweats on our bench?Bakker, Lyles, Wigal,Woods, and now Riley? Aside from Bakker the rest are D1 transfers, that we will definitely need come conference time

Does she have 1 or 2 yrs eligibility remaining after this season? Would love her to keep developing into a potential all-MAC player and prove out a similar develop, teach them to lead, retain (then add a few key pieces through the portal) approach like the JG method. Hopefully what’s happening with Gensler through the guidance of Wentz and JG.
Slam_Hilliard22
Fun game Friday at the JAR vs #20 Michigan Michigan has 2 of the better freshman guards in the country in Olivia Olson (16.9 ppg) and Syla Swords (16.6 ppg) Should be a fun one

clarkwgriswold
I suspect that when a Big 10 school agrees to come to you that they control the day and time.

I heard it was our coach's decision. Wanted the Youth Day crowd. It's the last day before break for a lot of schools though, and some have other activities planned. It may be tough to get any crowd that weekend before Christmas anyway. Edited December 17, 2024 by ewbrooman1
Copley Don
Michigan starts 8/9 from 3 and never looks back in a 96-55 win. Wolverine’s D is just nasty but I honestly think there can be a lot of positives to take into conference play from getting reps in against a team like they faced this afternoon. 1
Z.I.P.
Zips rolled to an 80-52 win over D-2 Miami-Hamilton at the JAR on Saturday. Noticed in box that only 8 players saw ti.e for Akron. Maddie Vejsickie (sp?), Kaia Woods and Lanae Riley were absent. The first is the team's best 3-point shooter, while Riley the former Hoban star has been out-of-action the past 3 or 4 games. Are they all injured or is there something else going on? Copley Don
Kaia Woods is in the portal and won’t be playing the rest of the season.
ZipsBBjunkie
We’ll know a lot more about this team and Gensler’s second year campaign a week from now. On the road against Ohio and home vs Toledo, both wins they should have if they expect to beat pre-season expectations. Seems there are concerns about the depth based on input on this thread so far. Also curious what NIL commitment for WBB from Wentz is going to translate to.
zippy-claws
How ‘bout dem Zips?!?! What a HUGE win for our women in the MAC opener on New Year’s Day! Beat OU after a “ehh” first half. The Big Lisa is really starting to play her style and dominated the paint today. Way to go Zips WBB!

Only 7 players for the Zips? OU's coach probably on his last leg.

Blue & Gold
I thought OU's women's coach, Bob Boldon, was one of the better coaches in the MAC. But since 21-22' he's really let that program fall on hard times. What gives? Edited January 2 by Blue & Gold typo
