He needs to get a really hard look in the spring and if Finley comes back he needs to compete with him for the job
GJGood
The receivers on this team are good for some big plays here and there but are any of them truly dependable? That has to be addressed before next season. The only ones I trust at all are the tight ends. Tonight was not poor coaching, was not poor defense, just poor offensive execution. GP1
I think the best thing about watching MACtion is seeing how good of a job the camera crews do of avoiding showing empty stands.

Why not switch to them? 🤨 Because nobody there cares. Clock-in. Clock-out. This is the D-team.
GoZips88
How hard is it to make an attempt to dry the camera lens when red light isn't on? We haven't figured out how to shield a lens a little better than that when weather is expected? Come on CBSSN. I switched to YouTube golf early in the 3rd. Couldn't take any more blurred vision, long runs for TDs or 12-men-on-field-WTF-are-we-doing?!? penalties. Absolutely miserable football on the field and sidelines. The problem with Roggow, as with Finley, is that he's not really a natural dual-threat guy, which JoMoe seems to need to really run his offense. Year 3 and he still doesn't have his QB. JoeMo is obviously having an impossible time getting a true dual-threat to come here. (I was hopeful Taj was the dude but that sure didn't work out.) Then the offensive genius better figure out how to make an offense work with the guys he does have.

Blue & Gold
Northern Illinois led 439-255 in total yards, including 295-50 on the ground.

Our 2025 recruit, Cibastian Broughton seems to fit the bill...but we shall see.

At 19 of 52 passing I would suggest that Finley is not even a single threat QB. 1
Captain Kangaroo
In defense of Finley- it is miserable outside in NE Ohio right now. A 39 degree pouring rain. It is really tough to throw or catch a football in these conditions…conditions that were in Illinois about 13 hours ago. In reasonable weather he’s shown a strong arm and good accuracy. He’s also shown that he can throw too high a volume of inexplicable INT’s. He’s way better than Undercuffler, but after nearly a 4 year career sampling, probably grades-out as a slightly-above-average MAC QB.

He wasn't great by any stretch, but that percentage did (in his defense) get hurt by more than a couple drops. Of course, when a QB is inaccurate, receivers don't always have time to react to a good pass (see: Watson, Deshaun)
clarkwgriswold
I agree Finley was playing under some pretty awful conditions and was given little help by his receivers. I just have to joke about it or I'd get really depressed by this team.
