I thought it looked strange on TV. The royal blue makes the logo stick out, which is what we don't need. They should have painted the logo I invisible ink.

Such a simple logo. So many things wrong.

Adding insult to injury, Chuckles replaced the fence coverings in our soccer stadium, and not one of the logos has a star for our national championship. Add to it the small print of all of our NCAA Tournament appearances to squeeze them all into a small section. Sucks to not properly advertise our successes to visitors and viewers.

No, but it wouldn't surprise me if they already have someone..

They better. There will be big decisions to be made regarding the coaching staff on Wednesday 11-27. The University needs to stay out in front of the situation or its going to be even more difficult than it already is to get a decent AD candidate. And, there won't be any decisions on coaches until the new AD is here. I'd like to see them take a shot at an AD from a succesful lower division program. I'd look at DII as well as 1-AA.

With a new AD I'm not so sure that keeping the current coaches around is a lock. I know finances are an issue as always. But, will a new AD agree to come in here and agree to keep the coaches? Maybe not real appealing to a good AD candidate. Beat Toledo and the leash might get a little longer. We shall see.

I couldn't imagine the PR hit Akron would take absorbing ~$1 million in payout hit for firing the coach and his staff at a time we're discussing major layoffs. Then again given Akron's track record of being poorly managed and being a PR nutcase, it would be onpoint.

Any decisions about retaining (or not) 2025 fall coaches can be made by the Pres./BOT/remaining dept. staff, and probably already have been.

So the new AD will have to accept the situation into which he/she had no input? That person HAS to keep the current HC?

Or,everybody has already been fired, its all yours? The caveat is that the administration has already picked a new AD, got that persons input and will go with that persons decisions. If thats the case just name the new AD?

Still think if Akron somehow beats Toledo it might change the equation.

I think timing is the biggest issue right now. There are a lot of government hiring rules that have to be followed. Typically, a university hires a recruiting firm to sift through the candidates. I wonder if it is possible through a FOIA request to discover if a contract with a recruiting firm has been signed. If one has not been signed yet, firing Joe probably isn't in the works. If so, you may have your answer.

Nothing is going to happen very fast in regards to hiring a new AD. Dr J is the acting head of the athletic department right now. With all the other personnel issues facing the university right now, hiring a new AD isn't at the top of the list.

It seems telling that the Deputy AD is not the acting head of athletics but perhaps mostly political with more faculty cuts coming and/or the possibility of Jennings also heading for the exit.

UA Athletics has been using the same Pantone color swatches since the original redesign in 2002.

Different applications and lighting tend to give different effects. The blue on the turf is the same as the blue in the JAR. It just looks brighter because of the sunlight.

Can't outline the A logo in gold in either application. Gold on a green field and gold on a tan basketball court just doesn't look right. There's not enough contrast. The white outline makes the most sense.
