Another night with one concession stand open. Very little happening during timeouts. No energy or effort. The only people that will want to come back are us diehards who will be there no matter what. So frustrating... Guthrie loyalists made a statement tonight. Fans boycotted the game #2. Workers boycotted the concessions. If he were still on campus, things would be different.

Nothing would be different if he was here still. This is all his creation.
Captain Kangaroo
To ensure good attendance at both games I think they need to play the Zips game at 4pm, then at halftime play the first half of the second game. After halftime, finish game #1. Then finish game #2. For non-Akron games the UA cheerleaders and band need to split up and support the other teams evenly. Ater the games are over, hold a ceremony to hang a golden microphone for Steve French in the rafters. I’d stick around for that. 1
Reslife4Life
Even if it is a little boring, always gotta enjoy another day of watching the Zips at the jar

Let'sGoZips94
Gray's worst part of his game was 3P shooting. If he's knocking em down, look out. He has MAC POTY written all over him.

I've thought the same thing. Then I watched him get outrebounded by a ton during the SMC game and I think the ghosts have mostly disappeared. 🤣
Let'sGoZips94
Props to Omaha on keeping up. Hopefully we fix some of the defensive flaws and keep knocking down shots in the 2nd half. This is a good "tournament" for us. We're able to work on some things while also playing competitive DI squads.
Reslife4Life
Threes are flying! Shooting 40% on 25 attempts 2 minutes into the second half. Could we see 40?

MDZip
How have the Zips made four more baskets total and nine more threes and are only up by four points. Then I looked at the free throws.
Let'sGoZips94
These refs are a joke. 20-6 FT advantage.

Let'sGoZips94
What a finish by Nate and then a terrific acting job by Tavari. WHAT A BLOCK BY AMANI!
Let'sGoZips94
Some observations as we wind down this game. - Hardman in during crunch time. - No MMK this game? - Very little Young compared to recent games
Reslife4Life
MMK came in for 1 defensive possession I’m pretty sure. Also Shammah and Seth Wilson not playing much in this second half
Let'sGoZips94
I know it's Omaha and Joe Akron won't think much of that win, but that was a good win.
Reslife4Life
18-39 from beyond the arc, that’s was really good. Only 44% on free throws, not so much
kreed5120
I was away most of the day so I was unable to watch most of the game. Looking at the boxscore I was quick to notice that we struggled to secure rebounds on the defensive end. Omaha had 11 offensive boards and we had 13 defensive rebounds. It's going to come back and bite us against better teams if we can't rebound better.
ZipsFan31
I think these tournament help prepare us for the MAC tournament in march. This gave me the vibe of a Saturday semifinal game. our defense was terrible, but man did we shoot good, will be interesting to see if we can keep that up throughout the season and make improvement on the defensive side of the ball. I love Nate but can we have a honest discussion about how he needs to just dunk… not throw the house down! lol
