The World of College Basketball

Horizon League ends a week to 10 days prior to the MAC, and their Tournament ends before the MAC Tournament even begins. That gives their winner at least a week to  10 days of rest and prep before playing a NCAA Tournament game.

The tough part about the MAC Tournament  is the winner (on Saturday night) barely gets to exhale before (worst case) traveling Tuesday night/Wednesday morning for a Thursday NCAA Tournament game.

Just one of those things.

All these law firms salivating over the absence of any sanity, leadership or control by the NCAA - they will never regain any position of power. It’s the wild wild west out there. It will be lawsuit after lawsuit from here on out. There’s another thread in football about why anyone would want to coach in this environment. Amen.

The most interesting thing is the suits are only going to grow and for good reason. The Supreme Court has told everyone involved there needs to be a collective bargaining agreement and a meeting hasn't even been set to discuss.

Less than 24 hours after NDSU gets upset in the Summit League Tourney player hits the portal. On a side note, what a game by Eaglestaff for South Dakota-dropped 51 points!

I was with the Akron Zips at the 1974 (IIRC) NCAA College Division (D2) national final 8 in Evansville and saw Tre Eaglestaff's uncle play for the Fightin' Sioux of NDU.  He was an imposing power forward who went on to become an educator who has a Native American high school named for him in Seattle.

This is fascinating. I live relatively close to Davidson and have gone to a game there. It's a beautiful setting with a really nice mod major arena. He's from the Charlotte area and could really help the program after retirement.

Duquies really blew this one.  Scored just 3 pts in final 4:44 and fall 64-59.  Dru's team ends season one at 13-19.

KD went 16-16 (7-11 in the A10) in his first year at Duquesne.

Dru finished 8-10 in the A10. Pretty good season IMO. First year as a HC in a tough conference; lots to build upon.
