Gave up four home runs in the game and yet were still able to to pull out the win. Great job. Tomorrow at noon against the winner of Western Michigan and Northern Illinois. Western currently up 2-0 in the 4th.

Zips will get number six seed Western Michigan tomorrow. WMU let Northern Illinois tie it in the bottom of the 7th and then scored five times in the first extra inning to win it.

Outstanding game ladies! They never gave up battling to the very end. That grand slam walk-off homer has to be one of the greatest moments in Zip softball history. Hope the stadium is filled tomorrow with rabid Zip fans.

Zips win on a walkoff Grand Slam in the bottom of the 7th. Zips were down 2 with 2 outs before the cleanup hitter hit a no doubter. Awesome

And one inning earlier the player who hit it, Lily Sullivan, was robbed of a two-run homer when the WMU outfielder reached over the fence and pulled it back.

Awesome that the guys were watching like that and had that sort of reaction. I have to admit I was thinking well they can still win it but it's just going to be a lot tougher. They had so many tough breaks today and still managed to come back and win it. This is a heck of a team.

Wow what a finish for the zips! That’s what happens when you leave the starter out there for 128 pitches I guess

Zips pitcher went 150 yesterday! Softball is weird

I just rewatched the bottom of the 7th and I'm still in awe. Zips got two quick outs and then their lead off hitter Meagan Lee dropped down a good bunt single. Hayley Glass went down 0-2 and maybe took strike three but it was called a ball and then she fouled off five pitches before she finally walked. Sophia Wygast then walked before Lily Sullivan hit her slam on an 0-1 pitch. Just amazing.

Underhand is a natural motion while overhand is not. That's why softball teams often use the same pitcher in back to back games.

The difference between a win and a loss in that game is huge.

With a loss, Akron would've needed 3 straight wins to capture the title.

With a win, they now need to win just one of two tomorrow.
