Time for some UConn payback (maddening we have not beaten them in conference yet) and then returning the favor on Georgetown when we were the #1 seed and 7-0-1 in confidence last year. Let's go Zips!

Zips SOS went 3-0 today. Murray state beat the worst time in D1 by a ton. Bucknell beat the last year 16 seeded Mount and Purdue beat Oakland… by only 10. Interesting one. But more good results!

The MAC went 4-0 today against Mid major or under competition. NIU is losing to wisconsin

Is that the year we got ran off the field by Toledo in Detroit? Going to the MAC championship with some college buddies was a fun experience regardless of result. We haven’t had much to enjoy being a Zips football fan, so I’ll take what I can get. If either Wyoming or UAB can pull off an upset, they are bowling. Even if not, im not sure they’re that much worse than other middling conference teams, and I think we’re better now. If we lose to the top teams (Miami, Toledo), have a winning record against decent teams (CMU, Buffalo, Ball State), and sweep the floor with the teams we’re supposed to beat, I’d say we’re a good team that deserves to play in a bowl.

I sometimes forget there are more than 30-40 soccer programs in the country because I don't think I've ever seen Akron outside of the top 30-40 in 20 years.

Non Big East scores.....that will impact the Zips RPI Northwestern was 2-5-2 in the Big Ten before tonight....Tonight, NW got a 2-1 over Ohio State Dayton got a 4-2 win over VCU #24 St. Louis got a 2-0 win over LaSalle

Best Zips’ overall performance this season.

Creighton is a good team, no doubt. They have one of the best stadiums in the country, but not surfaces. They are also riddled with thugs and cry babies. They are not as quality of a program as I once thought. How sweet it was to win the division at their place, in front of their fans and end their season. Go Zips! on to the BE tournament and a high seeding in the NCAA's.

I have to reiterate this. I have every confidence this team can find their way to prevail. So happy to see them well supported on the road. Kudos to Mitch Budler's family and friends and all other Zips fans who were able to travel and celebrate with our team as they win the Big East Midwest Division in a very challenging locale. Enjoy Zips and Zips fans in attendance!!!

So many players had big games....... Captain Daragh Reilly might have had his best game in a zips uniform. Matthew Paiva was also awesome in back. Credit to the zips coaching staff. They changed the momentum of the game in the first half when they substituted Jack Sullivan for Remi. Stefan is so versatile. Stefan was able to move to the forward position and that allowed Thomas O'Rourke and Jack Roman to excel as the outside wingers. Phenomenal improvement this year for both Thomas and Jack. The coaching staff made a great decision at half time to stick with Stefan up top and the 2 youngsters at wingers. Jack Sullivan and Tyler Morck both made some excellent passes during the game. I liked the coaching staff decision late in the game to bring in another strong defender (Jamai Royer). Great game by the players and the coaching staff. Stefan Dobrijevic has to be selected to the Big East first team all conference. Stefan has had a great senior season. 11 shutouts this year for Mitch. Best keeper in the Big East. Finally, while I thought that several Creighton players (esp. #7 and #11) were thuggish and cry babies.....I do have to give Creighton broadcasters credit for interviewing Thomas O'Rourke and Coach Embick after the game.

If I understand the BE Tournament seeding, the semifinal matchups will be... #1 Georgetown v #4 Providence #2 Akron v #3 UConn

Congrats Zips! You just ended Creighton's season. The Big East tournament will be Georgetown, Akron, Connecticut and Providence.
