  1. Past hour
  2. Yes, you remember. Ha!!
  3. Stay thirsty, my friend.
  4. I intentionally misspell Toledo…”Todelo” because I can’t stand Tod’s personality.
  5. I already gave kudos to Evan, but watch…with 6 seconds left here again his defense slows the ball down. And then he pokes the ball away. Toledo does get a shot off, but it was a frantic heave because of Evan’s disruption.
  6. I just got home and my package is sitting in front of my door! Can’t wait to wear it tomorrow
  7. I don't think about Toledo at all. I'm so indifferent towards them. All my hate goes to Kent, OU, and Miami.
  8. Tod with the "get out of my face" LOL
  9. Amani I don't think had a great first half. Not sure how many of those rebounds were 1st vs 2nd half, but I'm willing to guess ~10 of his 15 points came in the 2nd half. He really stepped it up and was a big reason we got back into it.
  10. I hate Todelo so much. But they did play a hell of a game too. The difference was the character of our guys. Their belief in themselves and a never die attitude. Which is infused into them on a daily basis by our whole coaching staff. That’s part of the culture element. But Groce did also make in game adjustments. One already discussed was to switch back and forth from man to zone defense to slow them down. And finally Tod, to be the best you need to beat the best. There is nothing fluky or charmed about the Akron Zips!!
  11. Amani didn't appear to have a good game but he did. 15 points and 16 rebounds. And Scott felt like he had a great game but was 5-15 and only 2-8 from three. But man what one of those two threes was. Captain Clutch
  12. Bettiol UMASS, tavari, Amani, and I want to say the 2 guys from Toledo were blyden and strong
  13. Could have used that a couple times earlier in the season..
  14. ESPN bracketology as of this hour has us as #12 vs. St. Johns in Tampa
  15. Last 3 MAC Championship games were 3 of the most exciting sporting events I’ve ever seen live and I’ve seen some dandies. Hats off to the boys and the coaches. Never panicked and found a way. Toledo coach said Akron living a charmed life. No Tod, winning cultures win. 1980 Tod …. 1980. Go Zips!!!
  16. https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/48167700/coaching-carousel-tracker-firings-openings-candidates-hirings-buzz-2026 What names will be in the mix? (Cincinnati) There are three sitting head coaches who stand out as potential options: Utah State's Jerrod Calhoun, Miami (Ohio)'s Travis Steele and Akron's John Groce. Calhoun is considered the favorite and checks a lot of boxes. He's from Ohio, he was a student assistant under Bob Huggins at Cincinnati and an assistant under Huggins at West Virginia, and he has had varying levels of success at three different schools. He led Utah State to the NCAA tournament last season and won the Mountain West regular-season title this season. He was Kansas State's top target before the Wildcats were forced to move on, but Cincinnati is a more appealing job to Calhoun. Steele is plenty familiar with the area. He spent 14 years at Xavier, first as an assistant coach then as a head coach, and has been at Miami (Ohio) since 2022. He led the RedHawks to a remarkable campaign, going 31-0 in the regular season before losing in the MAC tournament quarterfinal. Groce is another name with success as a head coach and ties to the state. He was an assistant at Xavier and Ohio State, a head coach at Ohio -- and after five seasons at Illinois, he has been at Akron since 2017, leading the Zips to three NCAA tournaments in four years.
  17. Groce made a great half time adjustment in that we attacked the basket and stopped relying on the 3 ball that simply was not dropping. People on this board wondered if the lack of close games would come back to haunt us in Cleveland and we answered that question tonight. That shot Scott hit tonight was from the same location that he made the shot at the end of the half against Mass. I sit behind the Mass bench and the Mass coach even told Scott "nice shot" That shot will go down as one of the great shots in Zips history.
  18. Today
  19. Multiple double digit leads, large scoring drought, etc. He got completely outcoached in the second half. Whatever you want to call it, that loss is on him. Toledo fans get to suffer for another year (at least). Pathetic crowd for them by the way.
  20. Everyone is tweeting about this
