If you want to use that argument we should probably be spending more time reviewing our failing policies in Ohio and spend less time worrying about other states. By 2050 most counties in Ohio outside of Columbus or Cincinnati areas are projected to lose population. Some areas as much as 30% of the population. https://development.ohio.gov/wps/wcm/connect/gov/a9ee6aa5-cb22-4c35-8154-cf633daa6daf/State-of-Ohio-Population-Projections-Overview-2020-to-2050.pdf?MOD=AJPERES&CONVERT_TO=url&CACHEID=ROOTWORKSPACE.Z18_M1HGGIK0N0JO00QO9DDDDM3000-a9ee6aa5-cb22-4c35-8154-cf633daa6daf-oTi9Hac

Regardless of whatever statement you think I was insinuating, California's annual net loss in population in recent years would side with me. For as beautiful as that state is, there's clearly something wrong with it, so you can do some digging to figure out what that is. However, I was mainly referring to the financial benefits of being in Arizona vs. California, especially as he's nearing retirement age (currently 63 years young).

So we get the luxury of hosting a program like South Alabama or UIC? Yeah, I think I'll pass. We can schedule those teams in November or December if we really want to play them.
-
We should hereafter decline the NCAA tournament and go to the NIT which would be much more fun. We could get a high seed and host a first round game.
-
Bennett leaving I imagine is probably a combination of Gonzaga leaving, making the WCC most likely a 1 bid conference moving forward, and the growing necessity of NIL. Most coaches say their least favorite part of the job is recruiting. It can't be fun having to recruit an entire new team regularly because you find and develop them, but don't have the money to retain.
-
Does it mean they're not done pirating random teams like Sac State? Does Seton Hall have football (I know East Carolina is not a target, hahaha)? That could be interesting. I mean it's the schedule release, I see the football and the schedule. Not sure how the picture fits, though.

I don't expect the team to say that, you're absolutely right.
-
I don't feel the two are mutually exclusive.

Yes but you can’t just expect to win the mac tournament and then say “great job guys! I’m glad we got this moment because we don’t have a chance next week”
-
What the hell does that mean? Hope it’s the schedule but not really sure how you interpret that being a schedule release? Edit - just noticed the 🏈📅!
-
In the MAC, you have to coach to win the MAC not an NCAA game.
-
I'm glad you're not in charge of our team.
-
That works for me. Also Akron's (or any MAC team's) approach going into next year's NCAA tournament is to enjoy the three wins in Cleveland they just got and then get focused on the offseason, because the dance is dead to the little guy.
-
The basketballs obviously weren't why we lost. With that said, it is crazy to me that the NCAA doesn't have a standard basketball brand/inflation level across the board.
-
Not sure defense is the strength with the current roster; not sure it isn't, either. Point being, the roster is a bit of a blank slate so they can target whatever style they want.
-
You’re right about Young and Eric Mahaffey. Eric needs to limit the stupid fouls, but he’s so long and athletic. And Young gets right in their grill. I just don’t see us making a push up the defensive ranks until we can land another effective 7 foot shot blocker. And I’m not confident with what Barre would bring next year.
