  1. Past hour
  2. Beautiful service from Royer.
  3. There's 1-0. I think UConn will press the game and we'll absorb well and get another goal off a counter before it's over.
  4. Chad Welker needs to tell announcer John Higgins that number 27 for the zips is Ashton Kamdem Higgins keeps calling him Roy A i guess that is his pronunciation of Royer
  5. My prediction, 2-0 Zippers.
  6. Today
  7. No. Morehead is 51. He was 47-48 when the Zips hired him. Additionally, he made it clear that he took this job so his wife could be close to her mother, who was ailing. Convenience, not commitment.
  8. Good god. Seriously? I'm not recommending Frank Solich (he'd still be at Ohio if he didn't have heart issues). I'm saying hire an older coach who wants one last stop of 6-7 years (or more) where he can turn around a program, build a culture and become a local legend.
  9. 6.5 point favorite over an FCS team that's had a lot of turnover from last year? I guess everything's fine and we'll just keep going ahead like nothing's wrong here.
  10. Or when Morgan State could have taken a knee and beat us, and instead ran the ball, and we got a strip-6 as the horn sounded to win?
  11. Remember a few years ago when Colgate went up 17-0 on the Zips? They need to play well or this could be an absolute disaster losing to them.
  12. They try to build out of the back like the men's team but when the defenders get the ball they look like a deer in headlights and give the opposition free counter attacks every time. Unfortunately, they just don't have any D1 caliber players. Not sure the solution to turn this program around.
  13. didn't watch game- this comment is from the boxscore only. Akron had a total of three shots for the game- none on goal. Among the Akron players who were in the game and listed on the roster as forwards- a total of zero shots. Zero corner kicks for the game. Whatever they are doing to create scoring opportunities isn't working. They need to do something different.
  14. UConn is undefeated on the season, and we've never beaten them in three previous attempts, all on the road. This should be a really good test. Wish I could listen on the radio.
  15. Always important to win the first conference match, especially at home.
  16. Yesterday
  17. As a Big E conference match, this will be much more important than any of our games so far.
  18. He's not suggesting hiring Frank Solich. He's saying following OU's model in the Solich hire might work.
  19. They look rough today. They just dribble straight into people and don't do anything lol.
  20. I sure hope that the crowd is 2,000 or larger... This group of zips deserve great fan support.
  21. Good point. Limit them anyhow. Let private money pay for it.
  22. Scholarship limits and roster limits are 2 different things. Limiting scholarships would have no bearing on the P4.
  23. I've been confused by the whole soccer situation in Cleveland. Because there's also a proposed soccer stadium across the freeway from Progressive Field. That would be for professional women's soccer and men's MLS Next Pro. Apparently this proposal is for USL men's soccer. But it would involve demolishing the arena and building a soccer stadium, I believe.
  24. Thats what happened with Pribula from Penn State last year. Walked away before it ended. I know the schools can take them back if they want but I also know that after Summers entered and didn't like his options, Akron said he could come back but only as a walk on.
  25. Frank Solich might be very interesting pick, but he is 81 years old and retired in 2021 because of health issues. Might not be the best candidate. I am all for what ever it takes to build the program. I am not a JoeMoe sympathizer, but I am also not a JoeMoe hater. I just would like to see the program build and the culture changed. I am excited about the freshman class and think they would be awesome to build around. I can't picture McManus being here next year, but if he stays that's even better ! We have three very large athletic defensive linemen that are very impressive that I think can make a difference once they develop and are given a chance, a very athletic and talented safety that I thought was going to play regularly, and two linebackers that I believe can make a difference. On the offensive side, McManus, Broughton who is crazy athletic and can probably be effective at any skilled postiion and a wr that runs 4.4 at least. I am excited
