  2. GAME DAY NOTES: Duquesne Offense: Tyler Riddell is the starting quarterback after previous stops at East Tennessee State and Gardner-Webb. He’s thrown for 604 yards with eight touchdowns against just one interception. The run game has been more of an afterthought, as the top two backs have combined for only 42 carries through three games. Barring injury, Joey Isabella looks like a lock for another all-conference season, already putting up 319 yards and three touchdowns on 22 receptions. No other receiver has more than seven catches. Up front, the offensive line has surrendered six sacks, though four of those came in one game against Pittsburgh. Left tackle Brian Beidatsch has stood out. Defense: Jack Dunkley has been a force off the edge, while Maine transfer linebacker Jabari Odoemenem has been one of the Dukes’ best players, leading the team with 20 tackles. The secondary hasn’t lived up to expectations so far, struggling at times both in coverage and in tackling. ST: Duquesne has rotated three different punters with mixed results. Kicker Matt Marcinko is 1-for-1 on field goals, with a long of 35 yards. Akron Notes: Through three games, right guard K. Davis and right tackle King have graded out as the top performers on offense, while linebacker Cooper holds the highest mark on defense. Cooper also leads the team in tackles. Defensive end Dall and defensive tackle Laventure have been credited with six pressures a piece. No one else has more than three. Dall also has three passes defended which is as much as anyone in the secondary. On Zips Weekly, Moorhead attributed the missed field goals to protection issues. My view on this game hasn’t really shifted since the preseason. Duquesne isn’t the same team they were a year ago, but we’ll still need to play well to win.

  4. Attendance of 1,954 tonight
  5. Friday night September 19 West Virginia with a 2-1 home win over James Madison Villanova hosted DePaul. 1-1 draw Seton Hall wins 2-0 on their home pitch over Providence Ohio State goes on the road and gets a 3-2 win over Michigan State Butler might be looking for a new coach after this season. Georgetown wins 5-0 at Butler. Xavier gets a 1-1 tie at St. John’s Creighton 1-0 home win against Marquette.
  6. Ouch! UCN is good, but this loss really hurts. Very demoralizing!
  7. I am looking at tickets for this season. I was thinking of buying 1 season ticket and splitting it so that I'd have tickets 2 to half the games as me and the soon to be Mrs. will only be able to attend select games. I've heard some on here say that option exists, but I don't see it advertised anywhere. How does it work and are there any restrictions? Like will I be able to get extra ticket(s) for the Kent game or is that game restricted?
  8. 3-1, in favor of the opponents.
  9. Well, I was quite wrong. I couldn't watch. Did we have a poor second half, or did UConn just step it up? Are they really as good as the result indicates? Other than goals, the stats appear in our favor.
  10. And it's one of the coolest basketball venues. They did well.
  11. How in the world was that offsides?
  12. Tyler Morck really played extremely well in the first half. He had a greaat pass to Stefan at 26.....and the GK had to knock Stefan's shot over the cross bar Tyler had a nice shot opportunity at 25... UConn is doing everything they can...to try to get a 2nd yellow card on Ashton Kamdem. I am sure that the coaches will spend time with Ashton at half time. As I have said in the past, Ashton Kamdem is the best left back in the Big East. Tremendous player.
  13. Yesterday
  14. Beautiful service from the great Ashton Kamdem
  15. Beautiful service from Royer.
  16. There's 1-0. I think UConn will press the game and we'll absorb well and get another goal off a counter before it's over.
  17. Chad Welker needs to tell announcer John Higgins that number 27 for the zips is Ashton Kamdem Higgins keeps calling him Roy A i guess that is his pronunciation of Royer
  18. My prediction, 2-0 Zippers.
  19. No. Morehead is 51. He was 47-48 when the Zips hired him. Additionally, he made it clear that he took this job so his wife could be close to her mother, who was ailing. Convenience, not commitment.
  20. Good god. Seriously? I'm not recommending Frank Solich (he'd still be at Ohio if he didn't have heart issues). I'm saying hire an older coach who wants one last stop of 6-7 years (or more) where he can turn around a program, build a culture and become a local legend.
  21. 6.5 point favorite over an FCS team that's had a lot of turnover from last year? I guess everything's fine and we'll just keep going ahead like nothing's wrong here.
  22. Or when Morgan State could have taken a knee and beat us, and instead ran the ball, and we got a strip-6 as the horn sounded to win?
  23. Remember a few years ago when Colgate went up 17-0 on the Zips? They need to play well or this could be an absolute disaster losing to them.
  24. They try to build out of the back like the men's team but when the defenders get the ball they look like a deer in headlights and give the opposition free counter attacks every time. Unfortunately, they just don't have any D1 caliber players. Not sure the solution to turn this program around.
