In Steele’s defense, I’m hearing that the speaker was drunk and belligerent during the whole first half. It had it coming.
-
Happy to see that Mr. Pinky didn't feel compelled to tell us how unimportant the game was.
-
A few things here. 1) Surprised to see Sendy take accountability for once instead of trying to blame an injury, not having resources to compete, or whatever else. 2) Evan has played the PF position for Akron all season. This isn't some new revelation. Is this his first Akron game that he has watched/covered this season? I will say the breakdown was otherwise very good. I do wonder if how much energy and focus Amani played with on the defensive end impacted his offensive play. I said before this may have been his best game defensively. Certainly it's up there.

I know we often talk about the Kent State hangover, but yesterday’s game didn’t strike me as physically and emotionally draining as some in the past. We didn’t start the game with a tip-off scrum for one. I’m sure there will still be a tendency for a let down. Don’t do it Zips!! Handle your business.

The Zips head to Mount Pleasant Tuesday to face the Chippewas. The Chipps are 9-19 heading into Buffalo today but are 8-4 at home. CMU's offense is pretty balanced with 4 players averaging between 10 and 12 points. The Zips beat them at the JAR 82-69 on January 6th.

New year, same Kent. It's legitimately impressive how consistent Sendy has become.
-
This is a bit extreme, but I do miss the days of the MAC rewarding the top 2 seeds with byes.

Akron clinched being no lower than the #2 seed with the win tonight.
-
If the refs call Suder properly in Cleveland (he's a walking offensive foul), Steele might cut down the whole jumbotron.
-
I am not so interested in the outright ownership of the regular season title as I was making a point about them losing a game and then to us in the MACC and not even making the NCAAT.
-
Just found the post game. Interesting that there is an injury there though. Would be a shame if it didn't fully heal before Cleveland and affected his shot. Miami OH is approaching Kent levels of unlikability right now.
-
Sounds like a problem for Miami. I bet their fans will enjoy it
-
I read on the Miami forum that the speaker belonged to that DJ and wasn't even WMU property. That's likely why there was a confrontation in the tunnel with thr DJ. Definitely something should be done.
-
It will be interesting to see if the MAC does anything at all with Travis Steele's crash out. It's one thing to argue with referees, but damaging the other school's equipment and then getting into it with a freaking opposing team's DJ in the tunnel is completely unacceptable from a head coach at any level. I'm guessing they'll let him slide because they're milking every bit of attention Miami is getting, but that was an embarrassing display from Steele tonight.

Tweet was about Skaljac, but Steele in post game conference says its fake news and that he will play Tuesday.

Which is 40% of the estimated cost of this new build, and the top end of the private donations they have (meaning very little to zero public funding would be needed). If Miami OH loses in the MAC Tournament, they will be sweating Selection Sunday. That is how structurally sound their hype is right now that got this project passed. $150M+ in debt for such a fragile athletic department is wild. -
at this point, is this a rivalry?
-
Which one? This would be the 2nd PG they've lost this season.
-
We shot 50% from 3 and the Kent fans went home early tonight. We were up by 25 and Groce slowed it down the last five minutes and we scored only five in the last 5 minutes. I heard him in post game where he was upset that we did not play well in the last 5 minutes. But this team is just not built to take the air out of the ball and have Tavari dribble the ball till the shot clock is down to 8. Slowing the ball down is the right thing to do but it also means we score 5 points at the end of the game.
-
How come Miami gets to finish against Ohio but we didn't get to finish against Kent?
-
They would have to lose both and we would have to win both in order for it to matter for seeding
-
Miami point guard may have broken his wrist tonight. Will undergo testing tomorrow per MACtion Maniacs X account
