  1. Past hour
  2. Fouls have become an issue for Freeman, as he has fouled out in two straight games. Today - 28 minutes, 13 points, 12 rebounds 2/22 - 30 minutes, 29 points, 12 rebounds, 4 blocks, 2 steals They've mostly been using him at the 4 recently.
  3. Maybe, but I expect the same result. Kent sucks.
  4. Today
  5. Probably an accurate take, but like in all things the vocal minority typically is what stands out. Even if it is a poor representation of what makes up the entire group.
  6. I don't think A10 fans care at all about UMass or the MAC Tournament.
  7. That might be the bigger problem, though if they were already playing at Green Street it may not be a noticeable difference for the team
  8. I mean, the average is probably closer to 500. Maybe a bigger field gets more people? Soccer is a different animal; if they have that sort of "type" of fans, even with a few hundred, they'll make it work.
  9. Actually ... I believe most of that talk came more from A-10 fans although some UMass fans were certainly in that mix. The more knowledgeable UMass fans had a clearer sense of MAC basketball from earlier yearws, when MAC teams played them as part of that FB package back in the day. Still, I do believe the majority of both UMass and A-10 fans both would be stunned if UMass does not make the MAC Tournament.
  10. The field does seem like it will play more narrow than firstenergy. The minimum width of a college soccer field is supposed to be 70 yards. There isn't a whole lot of sideline room at infocision, it will be pretty tight if they even go for a width of 65 yards
  11. Better following than I would have guessed. I was thinking more along the lines of 500. I don't really have complaints from Akron hosting. I was more speaking from a fan experience perspective.
  12. This is best case scenario IF UMass doesn't end up the 8 seed. I really want them to beat the crap out of Miami OH in round 1, even if they don't ultimately win the game. Otherwise, missing the tourney altogether is a better alternative to them being on our side of the bracket.
  13. Technically, if both teams finish with one loss, it would be regular season co-champions but Miami would get the #1 seed.
  14. Might actually eclipse 1000 a couple times. Looks like their record is 1700, hit last year against a team from Cleveland. Certainly it's not exactly going to fill the place up, but it's also going to bring a few people out that haven't been to the stadium before, at no real cost to the University, so it's still a win and I'm glad they're trying things.
  15. I think that’s much more about budget than Adidas versus Nike
  16. This was my initial thought as well. Not so much because of grass/turf, but more because Cadet Field is already setup for soccer and the lower capacity won't make it feel so empty. Even when Akron football attracts ~8k in real attendance Infocision feels very empty. This might attract a few hundred.
  17. I was hoping CMU would pull it out against Kent for multiple reasons. Obviously to see Kent lose. The other is I would find it absolutely hilarious for UMass to miss the MAC after their fans crap on how much of a stepdown MAC basketball would be from the A10. It would be a humbling experience for them.
  18. His tone didn't change at all on the radio, here you can see him ease up a little bit
  19. I was convinced that them playing @EMU and @WMU back to back would haunt them, but they handled EMU pretty well honestly. I won't be surprised if they go undefeated. It just sucks we don't even really have a shot at a shared regular season championship with only 1 game for the tiebreaker
  20. They played at St V which had turf as well. They play 6 home games in the summer so I'm assuming UA doesn't want the pitch to be used that much before the season starts. They usually do some work on the grass during the summer time as well
  21. I think the undefeated record has to weigh on Miami at some point.
  22. I am curious as to why they aren't playing at FirstEnergy Stadium–Cub Cadet Field. Why would a semi-pro team want to play on artificial turf with football and lacrosse lines on it when it does not have to? Maybe the maintenance costs at FirstEnergy Stadium–Cub Cadet Field were too high?
  23. Don't really know where to put this. But chalk up a few more calendar days that Infocision will be programmed with Akron City FC making the move from SVSM
  24. We've got soccer coming to Infocision!
  25. I don't think anyone is officially eliminated yet but some teams are basically done, especially EMU as they are the only team with 12 losses so far. They would need to win their last two games and have Buffalo lose their last three. The two teams do still play each other which helps EMU slightly.
  26. As much as we all would have liked to have been Miami this year, the fact that they continue to do well reflects well on the conference and continues to get publicity. The CBS article I linked talks about their chances of making it as at large, but Akron gets a number of mentions. If we end up meeting them in the final of the tournament and beat them, that's going to reflect very well on the Zips. There will be a lot of talk about them knocking off Miami and making the NCAA tournament 4 out of 5 years.
