  2. Transfer portal is now officially closed. Players can still sign, but nobody else can enter.
  3. "Big" doesn't just mean post players anymore, either. The average height of the Sweet Sixteen has increased every year for the past X amount of years. Wemby isn't on every team, which means the average height is increasing because winning teams have taller guards & wings.
  4. In worse news it was the first collegiate home run she ever hit. But in excellent news of the day the Zips took down Ohio State 9-5. Fly the flag!
  5. No doubt, the MAC is still a guard league. But a MAC coach (I believe Charlie Coles) once said "The MAC is a guard league ... but good MAC guards win with good MAC post guys." Now, in his era, one good 6-7 post guy (Wally, Ira Newbill, Alex Shorts, Ohio w/Trent or Brandon Hunter) was all they needed. Now, even at the mid-major level, most good teams not only have guards, they have TWO post guys. That's why you see so many teams loading up with bigs, even at this level. As the season wears down, good bigs start to play up.

  7. So the MAC is no longer a guards' league?
  8. Akron added a 6'10" player just this past season, one who is still on the roster.
  9. Could be another addition due to injuries or desire for more depth. I don’t know. My surprise is that this puts us at 17 scholarship offensive linemen, which is more than we’ve carried in the past.
  10. Zips add Colin White. Bowen Hardman, Rich Brisco, Ognjen Stankovic and Jashawn Ladd depart.

  12. Size is the name of the game right now. Cleveland State has added something like 7 guys who are 6'7" or taller. Cincy has added nothing but 6'5"+. Akron is getting bigger at G, added a 6'10" guy for the first time since COVID, and I'd imagine at least one of their remaining spots is filled by a 6'5"+ player.
  13. Brisco, Hardman, and Ladd are gone. Confirmed.
  14. Good question. I have not heard anything on Brisco. Does anyone have a definitive answer. He got practically zero playing time this year.
  15. 1-Barre 2-Steveskie 3-Burton 4-Halligan 5-MMK 6-Head 7-White 8-Wilson 9-Perkins 10-Henderson 11-Jones 12-Christion
  16. Can we get an update? Why leave Bo and Stank on there but not Brisco?
  17. This level of futility has lasted nearly 50 years for NW Ohio MAC schools. This extends beyond both Todd's. There has to be something in the water as the other Ohio MAC schools are running circles around them. Edit: Perhaps Michigan was correct with their claim in the border war. Toledo performs like a Michigan school, not Ohio.
  18. Oh wow, I saw they lost but didn't know the situation. But still, 2 of 3 on the road is good!
  19. Doesn't really surprise me. Incoming freshmen are going to be more invested in the coach who recruited them than the school they haven't attended/played for yet. Does this mean we have 3 spots left?
  20. Maybe Todd changed his last name to Simone when he contacted him and recruited him in French. Todd always does well in the Portal but struggles to make it count on the court. Let's see if he can bring it all together this year. As opposing coaches go, I like Todd.
  21. He put up really good numbers for a sophomore at Saint Joe's, which is the most comparable league to the MAC he's played in. Even his season at Providence looks good on the surface given his rotation player role. I'm kind of surprised BG could afford him. I don't think he's P4 caliber given his struggle at South Carolina, but he could be all-conference at the mid-major level. I would have thought he'd land at an A10 or AAC type school.
  22. Josh Egner was 6'6" as well.
  23. Ladd follows Groce to Charleston.
  24. 7' 280 lbs. He could be a problem. St. Joseph's > Providence > South Carolina > Bowling Green. His production has regressed with every stop but going back to a mid major might revert that trend. Has a jump shot, too.
