  1. Some players will definitely transfer, but him being a players coach might help him soften the blow. I still expect to see Minn bowling next year. In other news WMU right now...

  2. If someone offers you 3 1st rounders or 2 1st rounders and a 2nd for what amounts to a DE, I don't see how you don't take it. I don't see any team offering that unless a QB emerges from this class that they are high on. It's also why I think we'll stay at #1 unless some team offers us a deal we can't refuse. The Eagles pick we'll probably trade.

  3. They are the Golden Gophers.... dig that tunnel hit that hole (maybe not the best idea considering the situation that led to the last coach's termination)

  4. Zips a #12 seed in the midwest against Florida and trending up. UC Irvine a 16 seed in the east and Marshall a 14 in the midwest. http://m.espn.com/ncb/bracketology?iteration=189&region=3&year=2017

  5. http://www.gopherhole.com/page/show/334856-ski-u-mah In 1884, two Minnesota rugby players, John W. Adams and Win Sargent, tried to think of a fitting team yell. They used the word “Ski”, a Sioux battle cry meaning victory, and combined it with “U-Mah” (representing the University of Minnesota and rhyming with “rah-rah-rah”) to create a team cheer.

  6. Fleck is cheesy. But it worked, so who am I to critique? I just think eventually all the sayings and themes would get stale

  7. I 100% agree. I found this comment about him in an article about his recent engagement (now married) after divorcing his wife, mother of 4 kids, from a Broncos fan. I take a lot of heat about supporting Bowden, but IMHO, he is always deflecting attention back to the kids and his staff. I have heard him talk about wanting to build a winning program - a perennial winner, not a one and done and the fact that he has roots here and plans on staying. Does he use the Bowden name? Sure, but not that much, truthfully, and nothing compared to Fleck. WMU had their year of glory. Now what?

  8. Not unexpected, but darn. I really wanted to see Jonathan with the Zips for at least 1 more season. Nevertheless, if this is the case, I wish him the best. Another Zip in the Pros is awesome.

  9. IMHO, that's what most ppl pay money to see.

  10. Not necessarily off the table. He's a pro-style QB. If we think we can snag him, we will. Other QBs might see that offer and walk on their own or come and leave when they don't see the field.

  11. I like the concept, but it is a little too out there for me to like in practice. I want to continue seeing Minn/Wisconsin, OSU/UM, and Indiana/Purdue the last week of the season (ok that last 1 I could do without). There is just so much tradition in those match-ups, not to mention Bama/Auburn, Florida/Florida State, etc if you are looking to expand to other conferences. Eliminating divisions and devising some formula that actually matches up the 2 best teams I'd be for. This year Wisconsin had the 4th best resume in the B1G yet it made the championship game. I'm going to assume said formula would have had OSU/PSU. Had Penn State won that game they would have handed OSU their 2nd loss and being 2-0 vs, them on the year, including a neutral field win would show they were the superior team. Had OSU won they would have improved to 12-1 to PSU 10-3 and would have avenged their tightly contested road loss earlier in the season. Either way there would have been no controversy.

  12. The success of the team really revolves around Big Dog. Pray that he stays healthy.

  13. As a general rule, I'm always disappointed to see any talent leave the conference. I'm searching my feelings, and not coming up with disappointment this time, wonder why?

  14. “Jimond is living off of Dog, they’re going to come off of Jimond because they don’t think he’s a very good shooter, which he’s better than he acts, and then they pay the price because Dog’s a really good passer.” --KD Simple, but a great point. The pass by BD and the dunk by Ivy was my favorite play against BG. I always hoped for Zeke (and teamates) to be more successful in similar situations. Lets hope BD and Ivey (and others) continue. 15. Hopefully he can sell the kids on staying or that could be a tough job On the other hand we can use some D lineman if they want to transfer to Akron

  16. I feel this Akron team has the ability to be as good, if not better, than any of the Akron teams that I've witnessed. When they're moving the ball around, their offense looks unguardedable unless you have a guy big enough and strong enough to guard Big Dog 1 on 1. In order to reach this potential we need to improve our perimeter defense and need 1, preferably 2, guys to step up to provide us more quality minutes off the bench in the post. Not bad for a team that many deemed the "worst Dambrot team ever" after the YSU game.

  17. It is interesting to hear KD indicate that they found a way to get Jimond the ball off the Big Dog double team. Last year and earlier this year I would see Jimond standing out on the wing like he was Jake or Reggie and I thought that it was a waste to have such an athletic guy so far away from the basket. Great adjustment to have him cutting to the basket where Big Dog can get him the ball. He was 10 of 11 from the line. Hopefully, we finally have a guard/ small forward that can get to the foul line on a consistent basis.

  18. I don't have a problem with the promotions. I got a purple Peters shirt once and the kid behind me caught a TaylorMade mini-basketball once. I sit on the edge of my seat for the "hippity hop" ball race every game, and has there ever been anything more compelling than the Simon Says game at the half of the BGSU game?

  19. Point taken. I should have said, "Congrats on earning a very valuable scholarship."

  20. Well said, while the education is of great value, these kids or young men are putting long days of school, film, practice, lift, studying day in & day out, 1% get D1 scholarships & some can't handle the workload & don't make it, good to see one that put the work in with no scholarship get rewarded

  21. Always loved that video thank for sharing it. It should be a staple at the JAR. Too bad everyone in the MAC West wasn't included but at least it got the one Ohio school. Too bad the creator was never fully credited - great job.

  22. I also really want to land Arslanian. I'm calling him the Waterboy. He plays just like Bobby Boucher did in the classic 90s football movie. With his wrestling background, maybe we can get some "power bombs, compliments of Captain Insano."

  23. Aurora LB Bubba Arslanian was also named 1st-Team D. I'm really hoping we get a verbal from him. He's simply a wrecking ball and I've seen where he's wrestling in the 220 lb. weight class now. Not that he weighs 220, but he wouldn't weigh much less.

  24. Bubbas a great LB. I can't believe we're his first D-1 offer. He's not undersized either, at 6-1, 210. If we sign Bubba we'd have both the D-1 (Reggie Corner Jr.) & D-II (Bubba) Northeast Inland District DPOY's.
