I must comment on Kwan's performance last night. Kwan can only be productive on offense if they are including him on the offense. There were many opportunities in the second half where Kwan was open and the ball didn't come his way. Kwan is an unselfish player and he does whatever is ask of him.3 points

Just to be the contrarian, a run by any MAC team would be good for the MAC. That's the kind of visibility a conference needs to be on the radar for at large berths.3 points

That would be my guess. I believe BYU was the only team to beat the Zags this year. I'm glad the Houston group was able to play in front of their families and come out with the win.3 points

They took a private charter jet out of Akron/Canton. 15 minute bus ride to the airport from the JAR. Bus pulls up directly to the aircraft, no TSA . 3 hour plane ride. Bus pulls up directly to aircraft in Houston. 15 minute bus ride to the hotel.3 points

I may be in the minority, but I will NEVER understanding supporting a rival. I don't like how sports have become so buddy-buddy. I nearly throw up listening to LeBron talk about how the Warriors are a rival and such. I just want someone to turn into Jackie Moon and yell, "SOMEBODY HIT SOMEBODY!" Me personally, I wish nothing but losses for Can't, OU, Miami, and Buffalo. That being said, I do respect OU and Buffalo for turning down the CBI/CIT/Vegas tournaments. Not sure how any school can justify spending the money on those meaningless tournaments anymore.2 points

Expect a 60 point loss with Lonzo Ball scoring 80. Lavar Ball told me.2 points

Did he sign with a team this year? He's the 38th ranked US keeper on this site. http://www.everybodysoccer.com/even-the-goalkeepers-like-to/2016/12/8/top-100-american-goalkeepers-january-20171 point

Does that support the need to give the #1 seed more of an advantage? Or, are you saying you're fine with that? The #1 has actually only WON 2 of the last 9 titles. That's surprising. To clarify where Akron was in all title games: Akron has won as a #5, #6 and #1 Akron has lost as a #2, #3, #3, #1, #1 and #1 Akron was eliminated in Semi-Finals as a #4 and #71 point

Here's a few thoughts: 1) If you only have to play 1 extra game, 3 days before the Quarterfinal games, that's not much of a penalty for being outperformed by the top teams in your league throughout the season. 2) No league champ, especially ones who dominated (2016 and 2017 Zips, for example), should suffer all-or-nothing consequences by losing the 21st conference game of the season, when the first 20 games demonstrated superiority over the rest of the league. 3) There's a reason why they play a SERIES in the NBA. It'll never happen in college basketball, but I think anyone can agree that one designated game can't possibly be a true indication of the difference between 2 teams.1 point

We have declined the postseason as recently as 2015. http://www.cleveland.com/sports/college/index.ssf/2015/03/akron_declines_postseason_bid.html1 point

I agree, I'd say it's quite the opposite. Sometimes he just tries to do too much instead of taking what the defense gives him. You can question the effort of some players at the time, but even when Kwan has a bad game it's not because he didn't give forth the effort.1 point

I never considered him as someone who doesn't give 100% or is selfish. He just lets mistakes get to his head and it usually doesn't go well.1 point

My opinion - I don't. I respect the Zips for turning one down a couple years ago when we were decimated by injuries. There was nothing left in the tank. But if you had a 20-win season, were healthy, and had the chance to win a tourney, why not play? The year we got dicked by the NIT, guys like Travis and Joyce would have killed for the opportunity to compete in any post-season tourney. I wouldn't want to be a fan of Programs whose athletic department is either too poorly funded to play in the post-season, or whose players feel they're "too good' to play in a "lesser" tourney,1 point

At first I didn't give a hoot about us being in the NIT, but after giving it some thought, I think us playing in Texas against Houston is a big plus for our program. We get some free press coverage from an area where we are heavily recruiting. Winning the game is YUGE! We really need a few tournament wins. In any tournament!!!!!!!!!! Let's get another W!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 point

Agree to disagree. Houston shot 46 percent from the floor and 47 from three. Hate to see what an inspired performance would have looked like!1 point

Yes he is. It seems to me he is the go-to scorer we always wished for.1 point

Correct me if I am wrong, but a home game is still possible since Bakersfield won. If Bakersfield wins as an 8 seed and we win as a 7 seed then we get a home game. Now that would be nice! A home game to get to Madison Square Garden.1 point

That was fun. Good for the kids and KD to rebound from a painful loss. Let's go win another one. This could be fun1 point

I'm hoping everyone noticed one other huge difference between being a #6 and a #7 seed in this tournament. The winner of the 6/3 game plays the winner of the 7/2 game. If you are a 6 and you win, you play the 2nd round game at home if the 7 wins the other game. If you are a 7 seed, you have no chance of a home game.1 point

It sure would be nice to get a win down there. UA basketball loves to get our hopes up and then smash them down.1 point

That is just about guaranteed. As much complaining as there is about the NCAA selection committee year in and year out the NIT committee is usually far worse.1 point
