A very wise Zips soccer fan reminded myself and another fan this morning that the Zips need to take it one game at a time. BGSU might not be ranked but they would love to upset the zips. Chris Brennan from Copley has 4 goals and 4 assists for the falcons and he will have a ton of fans at the game. Zips can not rest on their laurels from the huge UND win.2 points

Just seems like we've always gotta complain about something. The first time i've heard the Mileee grumblings like this all year, and it comes after one of the best program wins in his tenure. I don't think he's perfect. I've tried telling everyone he called plays that first year everyone loves to talk about. I know first hand from a former GA and have provided articles with Bowden stating as such. Anywho, like I said he definitely isn't perfect. I don't agree with throwing it on 3rd and 2. I don't like that we didn't score a single point in the 2nd half, but it was enough to win the game. Lets take a look back at last year's OOC. We averaged 40 points a game with a healthy QB1 and Ball for 1.5 of those games. This includes a FCS team, Wisconsin, a 10 win/Sunbelt champ App State team, and setting the single game scoring record at Marshall, a record that I believe still stands, even with a Heisma winner-led Louisville going there the very next week. He doesn't seem to do too bad with some actual talent to work with right? Everyone can admit we lack playmakers on the offensive side of the ball. QB1 play has never been a real issue, which is his duty. What do they say...jimmies and joes are more important than Xs and Os. Looking back at the bowl season. The defense obviously carried us. Our best playmakers were Hundley, a converted LB playing WR for the first time and??? Frankly the only time he has stuck out to me this year was the 3rd down call and the 2nd half vs WMU, but like I said, it was enough to win the game.2 points

I don’t read any negativity towards Jerome by LZip in his post, obviously valued him as a Zip and is only wishing JL would have stayed and gotten more ready for an NFL career. That’s not negative.2 points

What a great night for the WSOC. This was how they can play. Very nice 1 nil win over Miami. Granted, Miami is not the elite MAC team this year, but Zips played hard-nosed aggressive soccer to gain this win. Long time coming and the women deserve to be happy to win a match rather than a moral victory. Amani was solid ingoal, and only had 1 save, but smothered 4 tough crosses before they made it to the crease. Ally Brown very active and got an assist on the goal. Shea O’Brien and Erica Schrader showed leadership, and Kiana contributed all night. They all did. Won the majority of 50 - 50 balls. And Rachel Eck’s goal was very good. Banged it home. Kudos on coach’s mass substitution with under 10 to get defensive and fresh legged.2 points

Don’t forget the other side of the equation...we’ve got to beat BGSU, WV on the road, and should handle NIU. If we don’t....then....hello Kalamazoo. Just happy we wouldn’t have to play in Waldo Stadium! Even less the 1 million gallons of rainwater pumped out last Saturday. fingers crossed...1 point

Matt Almond, what can I say? This board is just like America. Rude. Civil discourse and decorum has eroded away badly in the last few years and sad to say I contribute to that trend every day of my life. It has become the norm instead of the exception. Don't take it personal.1 point

I don't expect us to win too many more games where we are out gained 2:1 in yards. The offense will definitely have to step up its production this week if we hope to win.1 point

Agreed. A bit of pressure on the QB will help. Wait a minute; we need to stop the run. This could be one more game that the D comes through. With the experience of the staff, I think they will come up with some stunts and games to win the day. If the O can just put up more than 14...1 point

I'm pretty sure Matt is a marketing guy, and doesn't deserve to be attacked. Interesting listen: I didn't know the jersey pants and helmets are NFL property, the rest of what a player wears (gloves, shoes, etc) is theirs and can be negotiated.1 point

Zippy, A few Zips have to have great games for us to win. No one has offered this opinion but I feel our DB's have to be awesome. That especially applies Darian Dailey and Jordan George. Davis and Brown are ready to shut down their opponents.1 point

I agree. There is a ceiling on how far we can go with Milwee. If TB wants him as his QB coach that is fine with me, but Milwee is not capable of being the OC we need. I would love to see Terry go back to calling the plays.1 point

When Bowden got here in 2012 the offense was really clicking. It just seemed like once the defense came around - even a little - we would be winning games 40-35. What the heck's happened since then? Was Dalton Williams simply that good??1 point

Just a gut feeling. Or maybe hoping.. but I took Kwad thinking he has a couple big plays. I mentioned it in another thread that Woody needs his best game as a Zip, but it'll also take some big plays and a few other Zips playing their best game yet as well.1 point

I know I am in the minority here and I know I will get ridiculed for this statement but. . . I want to see Bowden win enough games to retain his job, but if he insists on retaining Milwee, he should be fired. Milwee has to go or I am going to be a very unhappy camper. He has had 4 1/2 years to prove his incompetence. My number one problem with Bowden is Milwee.1 point

UMass has a 3-1 win over St. Louis (and St. Louis has a win over Stanford and a tie with Akron) I love the zips...and UND and Michigan State are impressive huge wins...but akron has to prove that they can beat a top 20 RPI team on the road (Pitt will provide the perfect forum) Akron is being killed in the rpi by a horrible loss to an awful Utah Valley team (UVU is 3-8-2 when they don't play the zips) losing to a crappy team that is 161 in the RPI.....is the main thing preventing from being above New Hampshire in the rankings Denver is also very mediocre....6-6 when not playing the zips St. Louis is 4-7 when not playing the zips the zips have to play well on the road next week at Pitt and WVU Zips have proven that they are a final four team at home..... rooting for them to show their chops and toughness on the road1 point
