I was in the Frankfurt airport this morning going through Customs in my Akron hoodie when a guy in line turned to me and said "Go Zips! Nice win on Saturday." Later on I turned to a guy in a Purdue hat in the same line and said "Nice win over the Buckeyes on Saturday. He said "Thanks! You guys won in overtime, right?" Nice, globally-recognized win by the Zips on Saturday! Always fun to rock the UA gear in airports after a big win.

I was shocked at the mass exodus of Kent fans sometime after half time with it being tied up. The crowd turned pro-Akron after that (at least vocally). The energy was great on the south side of the stadium and we had a lot of fun.

At the end of the day, the roster shows 13 players we have to believe are on scholarship, which is the limit. Maybe (and hopefully) Hester is with the team, but for that to happen, something needs to be going on with him or somebody that we don't know about so we aren't over the limit. I always thought him not being eligible until January was odd as well. He sat out a whole year last year. It would be great if we had a good reporter to get answers to this type of stuff.

His twitter page is still there. He last tweeted on Oct. 17 when he retweeted Eric Parrish's announcement he was committing to Nevada. All looks Kosher on his page. We narrowly escaped a 1-7 Kent State team. I'd certainly hope we wouldn't take any game for granted.

It's too late! Milwee should have gone years ago!

I believe in Bowden and have given him a pass because he has changed the expectations for Zips football. The glaring problem has been offensive execution and for that I have blamed Milwee. At this point the focus shifts to Bowden as he has not made an improvement in that area. Something has to change on offense and if not, something bigger has to change. Unfortunately, that means Bowden.

After that disaster to end the half, hopefully only 20 more minutes of Bowden Ball.
