We're so close. Just not enough depth to hang for 40 minutes at UB. Regardless of all the turnover, take 2 scholarship players off any team in January in the MAC and they'll have issues. I think we're getting better as the season goes on, and the team keeps fighting

It's amazing the effort Groce is getting out of these guys. I'm very encouraged in the direction of the program. Buffalo doesn't want to see us in Cleveland, nor does any other team. Let's go win these next few games and head into Cleveland with some momentum in the win column.

In fairness to everyone it is already Wednesday morning here, but I will not divulge who won the game.

The fact that we are getting so pissed at losses and are expecting wins tells me that we believe in the team.

It just may be my crotchety old man thing but I do really miss the classic numbering in soccer.

The Zips played hard, with great intensity, and they kept their heads focused throughout the game. They went toe to toe with an excellent Buffalo team. The Zips should take away from this game the fact that they can beat anyone in the league on a given night and take that degree of intensity and fight into the tournament. Riak played his best game by far last night and that helped our offense immensely. In the end, Buffalo was just too physical for us on the inside and outside. It was a fun game to watch.

The home team supplies the broadcasters. Those were Buffalo employees, not ESPN employees. Akron home announcers are just as bad.

I'd much rather host OU over Ball State the 1st round. I actually feel Ball State has talent, but for whatever reason has been underachieving all season. For the 2nd round, I'd obviously like to stay on opposite side of bracket as UB. Between the other 4 teams (UT, BG, CMU, and Kent) contending for the 2-5 seeds, the only team I wouldn't like to face in the 2nd round is Toledo.

Very true that there will likely be some bias due to the announcers being supplied by the home team, we have to expect that. Those announcers last night, though, never even figured out why the technical fouls were called. Groce had one for the Zips. Buffalo's in the second half was for having six men on the floor. How can a competent announce team miss that or at least not ask for an explanation from the officials? Like Reghi or not, I am pretty certain he would have at least gotten an explanation for the viewers as to what was going on.

I actually think a Kwan Cheatham type player is what this team is missing. We desperately need a big that can space the floor to open up the lanes for Cheese, Ivey, and Banks. He'd also help fix our rebounding woes. Edit: I'm hoping we get that out of Williams next year. It's a big reason for my optimism next season.

3 Pros : Thought Deng and Poke were both very good. Good to see Deng finish a few tonight. Tyler Cheese.. Seems to get better almost every time out. Effort and energy. 3 Cons: We have to get something out of Ivey. He hustles his guts out but right now nothing is going right for him. I feel bad for the guy and we're going to need him in Cleveland. Oats made a defensive adjustment in the 2nd half and nothing came easy after that. Need to get that figured out in real time. Too many shot clock violations. PG has to be aware and call it out.

I stated before the game began that we needed Jackson to have a good game. He made one 3 pointer late in the second half and a short jumper. If I can remember his 2 made baskets that is not good. He had 2 assists to 5 turnovers. Against good teams on the road he struggles. We shot 14% from the 3 line in the second half. This is the 3rd game in a row that Ivey has stuggled offensively. Poke has yet to make a foul shot in MAC play. We have seen this show before. When will we have a good second half on the road in MAC play. I think it will come against Kent.

I do like the effort Groce gets out of the players. That being said, I've had enough of nice efforts and poor finishes. Until the Zips can perform in the clutch, none of the top teams are going to fear them any more than they fear PCCC, CMU or EMU.

Hate to agree with you Dre but LCJ is certainly on my list of guys who can receive a lifetime supply of Turtle Wax at end of this season. Even his last shot was just sad

Akron isn't good enough offensively and Buffalo is too good defensively for us to waste 15-20 seconds of the shot clock before setting into our offense. It's why we had 3-4 shot clock violations and some other desperation heaves at the basket as the shot clock was about to go off. I understand not wanting to get into a track meet with them, but we need to find a better balance. We had way too many empty possessions.

They make me miss Reghi.

ESPN+ is infatuated with Buttfalo. But then again this is the same network that shows Steven Ahole Smith down our throats several times a day.

The last three fouls were all bogus. This is crazy.

We are shooting over 54% from the 3 ball with Cheese going 4 of 4. We are shooting over 42% from the field. Even with this great shooting we are only up by a point. Great first half but there is no way we can keep this up unless Cheese can keep it on or somebody else gets hot. We need to step up our defense in the second half and close out a close game. Really like our offense and good to see Riak scoring some points.

Ivey focusing on assists and rebounding! 54% from 3 and up by 1. If that cools off, trouble sets in. Bulls taking a lot more shots.

Jackson is dribbling and trying to do too much. He should not be dribbling 15 seconds into the shot clock. The replay on the travelling call showed that he did not travel. Utomi needs to do more than shoot the 3 ball. He is cold. Give the ball up.

Since it is college football, I do think it's fair to critique the academic merits of a rival school. Does the science dept. at Liberty teach that the planet is 5,000 years old? I don't know. But if they teach that it is kind of funny. Who knows, we may schedule Antioch College in 2030, as I hear their sports facilities will be tremendous. Then we conservatives can laugh at them for teaching that Gaia or the Wind Spirit created the earth.
