  1. Hard to say considering I haven't seen what he will look like in Groce offense or know how he will fit in with the other cast of players. Personally, I'd think Knapke, German, Sibande, or Graves would be the early season favorites. Edit: The more respectable preseason polls should be coming out in about 2 weeks. You should get a better sense of where people see him relative to others by then.

  3. Thank you for the second part. I must clarify, and I've said it before, these players are working so hard every week to go out and not have a chance in a lot of these games, so I do not want my comments on personnel to be seen as shots against the players. I simply feel that the staff should try to fix things that aren't working, and it's evident that Lee at RB1 is not working. Perhaps he could be better in the slot, that's the kind of thing they should be trying at this point in the season.

  4. I was thinking the same on Saturday. Brandon Lee should be in the slot. To put it mildly, he's not an every-down RB at this level. I know Deltron Sands got injured early in the game. But if Lee is your #1 every-down back, your cupboard is officially bare. I hate being negative about any player on an open forum. Who knows who reads this. And I love Lee because he's got "Akron" on his chest; he's family now. But, yeah, I say more Burton.

  5. Thanks for clearing that up. I started this topic when somebody told me that Nance Sr. wanted Kd to offer Larry and he did not offer. I did not know if this was true and indicated in my post. My point being that you never know who is going to excel in college. Coming out of high school Tree and Harney were great recruits for Kd.

  8. @DannyHoke you make some good points. However, I find interesting your choice of coach's salary increase for which you chose to voice your disdain. What about the colossal waste of funds in buying out the last year of Terry Bowden's contract and buying Tom Arth out of his contract to bring him to UA. UA doesn't have those kind of funds. Some will argue that Football got such and such a payout from their Big games. Yes, that is true, but those funds should not have been wasted on buyouts. Let Bowden coach his last year, and then go after your new coach. To this day, I do not understand the fascination with Tom Arth, but it seems to be in line with the continued lack of skill in hiring a football coach. Don't bother to interview candidates and really screen them. Businesses have figured out how to interview and interact with potential job candidates to really get a feel for how they might perform. That doesn't seem to be the case for UA Athletics. How do you get Rob Ianello...Oh, he's from here or there; he knows Barry Alvarez,How do you get Tom Arth..Oh he has connections to D3 college football in Ohio. ... Who cares? What does that have to do with recruiting and motivating players and knowing what to do on game day. This is Arth's first year; maybe there is an upside, but I don't see it. Watching his press conference following yesterday's Wagon Wheel debacle was almost as painful as watching those of Rob Ianello. I had to stop just a few minutes in.

  11. Both Larry Nance Jr. and C.J. McCollum wanted to attend UA and KD had scholarships available for neither. Can you believe it? ???
