Fresh off of an opening game win against Cedarville, the Zips head to Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse this Tuesday at 2:00 face the Bonnies of St. Bonaventure. While we all like to complain about the OOC schedule, this is a very solid OOC opponent. The Bonnies are one of the very few teams in the NCAA to not yet play a game. The Zips were one of less than 30 teams without a game played going into Cedarville. The Bonnies opener on 12/12 against St. Francis has been cancelled. The Bonnies were 19-12 last year, playing in the A10, and finished 5th in the conference. They return their entire starting 5 and four of their top 5 scorers. There are no seniors on the team. The Bonnies are led by All-Conference guard Kyle Lofton who led St. Bonaventure in scoring last season with a 14.1 point average in over 38 minutes of action a game. He is a good three point shooter at 34% and his assist numbers were the best in the A-10 at 6.0 assists per game. Zips shot 19/26 (0.731) inside the arc and 16/40 (0.400) outside.

The Steelers made several roster moves on Saturday, including activating linebacker Ulysees Gilbert III to the 53-man roster. Gilbert, who played in two games this season, was placed on the Reserve/Injured List on Nov. 4 with a back injury. He returned to practice on Dec. 9 and the team had 21 days to activate him or he would have had to remain on the Reserve/Injured List all season.

The Zips made it to all 6 games. That's impressive and showed some discipline. Miami and Ohio got only 3 games in. Basketball team seems pretty good.

He just told me that "this is a good division 2 team." He then reminded us they're missing 4 of their starters. Ugh.

Just couldn't quite get off the field. Buffalo had to earn that drive.

I don't know if college players are allowed to face guard, but I otherwise thought that was pretty dang good coverage by Watts.

I'M BACK!!!! Here to drop a prediction like LCJ, and Co., will drop buckets on the MAC this year. 78-51. Will be rusty but excited to see team's camaraderie. Just like last year, Akron is the team to beat!! Especially if the Wake Forest transfer is granted eligibility on the 16th.

Damn I wish we could watch this. Some random thoughts: - I think Tribble will be a combo guard, playing the point behind LCJ and SG with Trimble, getting lots of minutes. - We may see a big jump from Dawson this year. Last year, he an Ali both looked like young foals still figuring out how their bodies worked. This year we see a jump in skills and confidence. - They're deeper than they've been in years. Wynn would only add to this. There are going to be some talented players doing a lot of sitting. - Interested to see how the players interact. Hard to beat last year's squad for comradery and tam spirit. Here's hoping this team is its equal. - I think Dailey will be a major factor in this team's success. I think he takes on Banks role as a defensive stopper and some of X's offense. - I'm hoping another year on Cam Reece brings a maturity that allows him to maintain his intensity while doing a better job of avoiding fouls. - I see Marshall as a younger Reece. High motor willing to do the dirty work.

My $0.02 PG - LCJ.... Tribble... Clarke W - Trimble... Dawson W - Dailey... Edwards P - Marshall... Reece P - Ali... Currie I'm excited to hear (??) if Dawson, Tribble, and Ali have made any jump from their freshmen season. If Tribble improves his 3-point shot he could be nearly unguardable. Same with Dawson. I want to hear Ali being more assertive.
