I would like to think the inevitable Transfer Portal craziness this offseason has our coaches focused on adding more developed talent. We have a young backcourt and frontcourt next year (basically the team is younger), so adding an upperclassman transfer from a P5 school could provide additional leadership and skill. Duvivier comes to mind when thinking of those attributes and qualifications. Oregon State to Akron, and he kept Akron more competitive than they should've been with that roster in Groce's first year. The roster is WAY better now than it was then, but the same type of boost could be found.

Hopefully, these transfers free up a roster spot or two. I wouldn't mind landing one of the Cincinnati transfers, preferably a point guard who can create and score.

I'm not either, but I can't see it now as well! The U is covering tuition and general expenses (after other aid) for freshman who are eligible to receive Pell Grants for their first two years. Limited to Summit County and surrounding counties. Based on my memory, anyways.

I saw this thread get bumped and thought it was going to be a departure post. Incredibly good news. 5 more seasons means 2-3 trips minimum to the Big Dance, and probably 3-4 NCAA Tourney wins in there. I have no doubts.

despite not playing , Akron is staying in the rankings dropped from 19 to 21 in coaches poll Akron tied Kentucky in Akron's first game. Kentucky dropped out of the rankings after losing to 1-9-1 Alabama Birmingham Marshall (Akron's best quality win) dropped from 8 to 13...as Marshall lost last week to West Virginia sure hope that the zips can play this Sunday against Northern Illinois https://unitedsoccercoaches.org/rankings/college-rankings/ncaa-di-men/
