  1. An opportunity was missed by our AD by not being at this game. I can assure you OSU took it seriously and so did their administration. Christine Johnson, the president of OSU, was in attendance. There was a lot on the line. Guthrie needs to seize every chance he gets to network with big, influential athletic depts if we want to grow. Kudos to Jared for calling our poor play exactly that. We were sh*tty. Contrast that to Arth's presser in which he sugar coats incompetence and wastes time on OU-Duquesne. What about addressing our issues starting with QB and DL? I think he doesn't talk about those issues, and others, because he doesn't have an answer.

  2. Have had the opportunity to meet both Coach Parry and Coach Porter. In fact attended the same church as Stu. They are two of the classiest people in the world not to mention being outstanding soccer coaches. Have not met Coach Embick to date but he's in a great coaching tree.

  3. I think he's referencing the historic nature of the stadium and how kids in Ohio grew up wanting to play there. I had friends who played in a state championship game there and it was certainly an honor for them. I don't know of many kids who grew up watching UA games on TV and dreaming of playing in the Rubber Bowl. There's plenty in that presser to dislike but his reference to OSU wasn't one of them for me.

  4. Excellent substantive comments by both 72roo and Zip_ME87. I hope that Charles Guthrie reads their comments and learns from this huge missed opportunity. On a brighter note, very nice picture.

  5. It's hard for me to imagine having low energy & a lackadaisical effort -v- OSUcks. But I guess the vast majority of the team is from out of state - even out of country - so they must not get how much we hate that school in Columbus.

  6. Well said by Jared and appreciate his apology. No idea why our players were so uninspired in this game. As he said, arrogance? I hope they learned to never take any opponent for granted. I love this team. I don’t regret traveling to Columbus to support them and will continue to be there at home and on the road, but very disappointed they let us down like that.

  7. I’m very disappointed in our new Athletic Director and his Deputy. In the past, UA has often sent a bus load of Rowdies to Mens soccer matches at Ohio State creating a great atmosphere on the road. No, not tonight. Don’t tell me it didn’t happen because of Covid. They’re sending a bus on the 25th to see a completely lopsided grid iron game at Ohio Stadium. Also, I didn’t see the AD or his Deputy in attendance tonight. I saw Caleb Porter, Darlington Nagbe, Perry Kitchen, Evan Bush, Blair Gavin, Chad Barson, and the founder of our Men’s Soccer Program, Stu Parry. In fact, Caleb has so much respect for our program he made sure to catch up with Stu Parry and took a picture with Stu and Bill Parry. Caleb, Darlington, Perry, Evan, Blair, and Chad were all very gracious to the Zips fans in attendance taking time to reminisce with us and talk about current happenings in their and our lives. Our AD and his Deputy missed a great opportunity to meet some key people from our prestigious Men’s Soccer Program and current coach, staff and players of the Columbus Crew. Heck, I think one of the OSU sports facility staff with whom we talked prior to the game knew more about our program than our Athletics Department leadership. Come on Charlie and Marcus. Soccer may not be your thing, but Zips Mens Soccer is the most successful program in your department as you should be able to tell from the banners at First Energy Stadium Cub Cadet Field. Soccer continues to grow in popularity in the USA. You’re doing better than the previous AD, but time to get yourselves out to more than hopeless grid iron games and to use some of those pay outs from Auburn and OSU to help some of our sports other than grid iron.

  8. I don't know if this has already been mentioned, but I just saw that Charlie Frye is the QB coach for the Miami Dolphins.

  9. There SHOULD have been one awarded as Pacheco was laid out just inside the penalty area. Ref just said play on. But no calls and/or bad calls are to be expected, especially on the road. Bucks were pumped to deflect attention away from their crappy record with a top 10 upset and give them credit they got it done. Zips' younguns can hopefully grow from this by realizing it's a far different game when you're the hunted than when you're the hunter.

  10. First, I agree with 94zipgrad regarding the questions. But that is not the issue that bothers me the most about this interview. If you watch the video, Arth is very somber for most of the interview. He does talk positively about the wide receivers. However, the only time that he got excited is when he was talking about the Suckeyes. He stated that he grew up in Ohio and talked about the shoe with passion and excitement. This makes me sick. I have been a critic but also a vocal supporter of Arth since he got to Akron. I have reported in the past that a friend of mine's son was all state in high school, went to John Carrol and did not see the field with Arth as coach. After Arth left, he made all conference. This situation caused me to question his coaching and talent evaluation abilities. Based on Arth's passion for the $uckeyes, I now am an ardent supporter that he he must be fired immediately. Or if that will not happen, the AD and President of the U must leave him in Columbus next weekend. Go Zips.

  14. It appears the Zips are on the attack in 2H, just haven't found the net yet.

  15. Is that stat keeper getting the styles of play mixed up with the 8-3 foul margin? I've never seen an OSUcks soccer team (or any Big Ten team, really) NOT have an aggressive, foul-heavy style of play.

  16. Well, coach can count the games and knows the days of the week. He seems to know more about the Duquesne/OU game than the UA/Temple game or the UA/Bryant game. Is GT the only reporter there? I'd send in fake reporters just to make it look like a real presser.

  17. I stopped by the Bryant web site and checked out their roster. They have much more experience than the Zips but are tiny. If we don't control both lines of scrimmage we don't just have a problem, we have a REAL problem. One worry. I remember back in the 70s the Zip's defensive line was frequently outweighed by 50 pounds a man and somehow they outplayed their bigger opponents. Hope the fighting (miniature) Bulldogs don't do the same.

  18. Of course the NCAA finally allows some lee-way after we've suffered with years of being under the max scholarship limit... https://footballscoop.com/news/ncaa-reportedly-raise-25-man-scholarship-limit
