I picked this up on the internet although it is from 2021 2. PRINCE MOSENGO - NATL - ST 21 POS PRINCE MOSENGO UNDECIDED 6'8" | 195 LBS | PF | 2022 OLYMPUS PREP CARNEYS POINT, NJ, NJ N/A WHERE WE’LL SEE HIM: Best of the South WHY HE MIGHT CRASH THE RANKINGS: Mosengo is an interesting prospect, and one that comes with wildly intriguing upside. He’s not the most polished prospect in the world just yet, but his length, IQ, motor and improving ball skills make him the kind of player that could slide into the back end of the Rivals150 if he puts everything together during the live period. Monsengo runs with Team Florida on the grassroots circuit. He isn’t a name many outside the Sunshine State know well, but the emerging prospect may well change that in the month ahead. RECRUITMENT: Mosengo’s recruitment is full of mid-major programs as things stand. Akron, Iona, South Florida and others have gotten involved in the last few months. He could get some high-major looks in the weeks ahead. ***** 3. DANIEL SKILLINGS4 points

I believe that the major area for improvement in Irons' game will be in his decision making. Hopefully, the staff's guidance and a year under his belt will pay dividends in that regard as he has the physical tools to be successful. Eliminate those "what in the hell was he thinking" moments and he'll be solid.3 points

@Illini Zip, Amani Lyles looks like he's going to be taking Wynn's roster spot. Yesterday Amani's verbal commitment was announced by UA.2 points

I think, at most, a normal rotation would feature 10 guys - essentially 2, 5-man rotations. After that it's practically reserves, and even the 10th guy won't see too much PT. I'm just looking at this roster, and all I see is talent. Top to bottom, this roster should produce. It is impressive how Groce & Co. have replenished after the departures.2 points

I agree, but it sure would be nice if Lyles was given the green light this year. Not that we need an active roster 11 players deep, but having a tall wing sure would be nice on defense. Ali played right away his Freshman year and Lyles is physically ready. I see Dawson as the only other obvious wing at 6'5''.1 point

As with all of Groce's recruits, playing time is never guaranteed to any player. If a player puts in the work on the court and classroom anything is possible.1 point

These are the body types Akron has missed out on for years. Hopefully JoMo can keep this pattern of bigger kids that can add weight/strength and not loose speed in the process. For years the LB position has been way too small and not nearly fast enough.1 point

I like the potential Bowen possesses. He has a nice frame, moves well, and has some decent straight line speed. He strikes me as a guy who hasn’t fully grown into his body and will continue to develop. If that’s the case, he could turn out to be a steal. I’m guessing he’ll be slotted as an edge guy and either fill the OLB or DE role.1 point

I think Irons is talented (and definitely the system guy). He just has to be more consistent than last season and stay healthy. If Undercuffler gets a chance during the season..which I think he will whether it be a blowout, Irons injury, or Irons bench, its hard to tell where it goes from there. He may come in and light it up like he did his freshman season or he may not quite be ready for FBS ball. No matter what, we took a big step up in QB depth even though Undercuffler may not be the ideal system QB.1 point
-
I'd be shocked if not Irons to start the season. The end of the season could be anyone's guess between him and Undercuffler.1 point
-
I hope Draft Guy Jimmy is right, but saying that about a guy who has yet to take an FBS snap and likely to be the backup in 2022 sounds more like wishful thinking or clickbait.1 point

The initial post has been updated to include the additions of DB Woods & QB Undercuffler. Go Zips!!1 point

I think grades is a logical guess, but sometimes they just don't like the offers they get and this is one way to maintain full eligibility. And Akron was an enticing offer.1 point

My copy of the University of Akron Magazine arrived in the mail today. There is a nice interview with Coach Moorhead on page 14. My favorite part follows: What are the similarities and differences for you between teaching and coaching? As a coach I view myself as an educator. Anything that a teacher is trying to accomplish from a methodological and development standpoint are all the same things we’re doing in football. It’s just a different medium. As a teacher, you do your research on the material, you present it to the students, they study and then you have a method of ensuring they understand the material. In a classroom, a test is done in a quiet, sterile environment with a lack of distractions and variables. As a coach you do the same things leading up to the test. But for the test, you may do it in front of thousands of screaming people, in the rain, with people trying to rip the pen out of your hand and kick the chair out from underneath you.1 point

And, with more than 9 or so playing any significant minutes, it's hard to get any consistency.1 point

What prep school? All-Ohio Red is a prominent AAU team. This is a good get.1 point

Graduated from Columbus Beechcroft. Apparently he's going to prep school for a year before joining the Zips. 6-7 forward. Looks athletic. Here is a 1-minute facebook video of Amani. He's not very active on twitter though. Looks like he also held an offer from Cleveland State. Plays AAU for All-Ohio Red, which is a high level AAU team. Not much out there on him other than a handful of terribly-edited highlights. In Groce we trust 🤞1 point
