Watching CFB tonight...god I am so pumped for Saturday. Sure hope the Zips can pull it off.

Game will be broadcast on Big Ten Plus..... Michigan comes into the game with a 1-0-1 record. In their first game,. they tied Loyola Marymount 1-1 Loyola Marymount must be a pretty good team. In their 2nd game, LMU upset #15 Virginia 3-1. Loyola Marymount Ryan Kingsford (yes, the former zip) led the lions with 2 goals In the Michigan vs. LMU game, LMU led 11-9 in shots and 5-3 in shots on goals. Both teams had 5 corner kicks. In their 2nd game, Michigan defeated Cal Baptist 2-0. Cal Baptist lost their first game 3-0 to West Virginia.

Kent did look the part for a little bit, and by that I mean just like a bad MAC team. But it’s gotten ugly, you can tell that roster isn’t very deep. Lucky for them they have a trip to Arkansas next week 🤣 WMU has trouble wit SF for a bit but pulls away late.

UCF is a good team and Kent’s lack of depth shone through. It’s just one game, but they seem worse off on the OL and DL than we were last year. WMU is going to need to figure out a way to push the ball downfield. Teams are going to stack the box and take their chances in man on the backend if the Broncos don’t develop more of a passing game than what we saw last night. I’m guessing the QB transfer from Old Dominion will get a shot sooner or later.

In town from FLA to escape the hurricane, and went to the match last night vs. Dayton, and boy....wow...don't know what to say. The women played hard, and look a lot faster than last year, but after a nice early goal and a PK to go up by 2, it was all over but the lack of shouting. The coaching staff is way over their head, and while Coach Simonetti may be a good D3 coach, it doesn't translate to D1. This was not one of Guthrie's better hires, and he will never admit it. They lose their shape on the field way too often and way too quickly. They don't possess the ball much, so the D is stuck with lots of attempts on goal. I know, you boys from the men's forum are going to tell me, "give her a chance", and "it's way too early" etc. but the main thing as to giving her a chance is, the recruiting class was not good. Not even mediocre. And it shows. Portal? 2 athletes this year. True, they miss Bower and Nguyen right now, but that's where the recruiting class comes in. How can a school with a Men's program like ours never produce even a middle-of-the-pack team after all these years? Here's a thought....ask Ger or Michael or Attilla to become the Women's head coach, and let them share their thoughts with Jared to work out a plan to a) recruit better players both HS and Portal, and b) game-plan better strategies. Don't know if they would consider it, but it would be a great place to start.

I liked JD. I would have liked him to continue here at UA. He does deserve a lot of credit for lifting the program up. I was there for all those magical moments all the way to Detroit. Great tragedy for him and UA. GOZIPS

Week 1 of college football is different than any other week because of the unknown. For many teams, disaster unfolds in the form of turnovers, miscommunication leading to defenses giving up big plays and general folly. Mental preparation is the key and would be surprised if Temple was better prepared mentally than Akron, but you never know what Week 1 brings.
