- Coach knows he needs to get the running backs more touches. - Wants to see better run blocking by the OL. Some guys have been shuffled and are playing out of their natural position. Hopes to have Keylen Davis and Nate Williams back from injury soon. - Trying to figure out the quarterback situation. - Again said WR is the strength of the team and the playmakers are there. - Spoke highly of the defense and gameplan the DC put together. - Mentions the 3 freshmen wide receivers as young guys progressing on offense. Kam Cheatom at DE, Melvin Spriggs at LB, and some DBs on defense.

In addition, I don't believe we won the MAC since 2018. That's not at all acceptable. It is right to put some heat on the program; that's what men do. We don't thrive when we're coddled. We thrive when healthy pressure is applied. @fknbuflobo (along with @TennZip )are the two posters which make this particular forum worth visiting and they're as big of Zips fans as anyone on earth. @fknbuflobo wants what is best for the program and we have slipped from our once high standard. This is unacceptable to anyone who truly cares. Having said that... I'm glad we're up to #3 in the nation! 😂🤘🤘

Akron men’s soccer has not won an NCAA tournament game since 2018 (someone can correct me if I am wrong). That is not acceptable. The standard is NCAA National Championships not losing in the first round or not making the tournament. YipaZip - the standard is the standard and we have fallen below expectations. So it is a fair statement that we have lost relevance. One other note why do we continue to talk about women’s soccer on the men’s soccer board? This needs moved to another section.

I'm excited about Wilson. Definitely think he will move up some on the depth chart as the year goes on. Might just be taking him time to get up to speed with everything since he just joined the team in the summer. If i recall correctly, he got a few reps against Morgan State and one of them might have been a penalty on him. With that said, Adams and George are All-MAC receivers (Adams was 1st team and George was a snub last year). Gathings is solid and while Golden and Walker are intriguing as well, I don't believe they play the same position as Wilson. The statement that we don't have playmakers at the position just isn't correct.

Our offense is full of playmakers. Playmakers need the ball to make a play, which means the QB has to get them the ball. That's the issue. It's not a lack of talent.

The expectations being discussed are not about 6 games and where we stand this season. Go back and look at the discussion. It's about the portfolio of work since 2018. Expecting to win an NCAA tournament match over the past several seasons is not asking too much of a program, including current coaching staff, that has high expectations.

As I put in the title of this thread ... fwiw ... for what it's worth. Polls are about as meaningful as participation trophies. RPI is more relevant. Honestly, I don't understand your "beef" with Zips Men's Soccer fans expectations being so high. I remember when our head coach would apologize to fans for "poor performance". I thought it was strange at first but then realized that he wanted our expectations to be that high.

Are you predicting the Zip's kicker will hit two field goals or miss an extra point? Personally, I'm thinking the Zips might go for the rare triple safety.

I’ve heard great things about Wilson too, but that position is very deep. Those guys have delivered when called upon so far. The talent level of the skill position dudes on offense is incredibly high, they just don’t even have a game manager to help them out it all together at this time.
