  2. Glass Half Full: He's a good player who is being pushed out because Missouri is on the rise and getting better players coming in behind him. Sort of lost in the shuffle. Glass Half Empty: Decent talent who didn't do enough to develop himself so he didn't see the field at a historically average to below average SEC school. I'm going with glass half full.

  4. I think he showed folks while he was here that he holds a mean clipboard. Perhaps UMass lost one or more of them to the portal. If so, they could fill a critical hole in their roster if he takes them up on their offer.

  5. Whoa. New year, new you? 😉 I'm all for P5 talent coming in, especially in the trenches.

  6. I hope so. They were down last year as well. Also, no Taylor Made or Summa ball toss, no $10K putt at halftime, no Tim Miller sponsored 3 Pointers (that has been gone for a while), no Gionino's T shirt toss, no strong sponsorship presence at all.

  7. Just a stark contrast between a 2021 3 star vs a 2023 2 star. If social media is any indication, we haven’t offered Labas. I’m curious to see if that changes with Labas working out with Maendler. I know JoeMo respects what Maendler has to say about QBs.

  8. Mizzou DE with 3 years of eligibility. Was a 4 star recruit out of HS by several services. Hardly saw the field at Mizzou, but would be a nice addition for us.

  9. He won 305 games as Akron's HC. He can have strong ties to both, no?

  10. I hope so. Faded, torn blue carpet is not the way to go. I know money is lacking especially in the era of NIL, but the JAR is a dump.

  11. Merry Christmas to all on this board. I am grateful for your posts and discussions. Thanks to all who make it the best and especially to the founders who keep it first class. Wishing you all a blessed Christmas and many more years of beating Kent. Ho! Ho! Ho! Go Zips!

  12. Huggins and Wyatt Webb are down as well (I'm talking about the 4 large banners that used to be in the corners of the JAR not the ones in the rafters). Also, all of the photos of Zips Athletics Hall of Fame by the exit are gone, all of them. Instead, they put up a TV that usually shows one photo of the football team and one of Enrique. It has a real "I'm only concerned with the future and what I build not the past" vibe to it.

  13. John Groce never takes the Akron job if KD doesn't first build it into a perennial MAC power. I get people that were ready to move on, but I also can tell the people who don't remember (or choose not to remember) Zips basketball pre-KD. I'll never understand hating on him.

  14. Forgot to post this. Double Double leaders. The second-to-last number is the total games. Enrique has the most double doubles in the fewest number of the games. Wild. 16. I was a 12 year old in the tunnel with the Rowdies getting ready to storm the court. This might've saved me from potentially getting trampled, but the pain of this moment is way worse than whatever pain would've come with getting trampled. Side note: Cedric Middleton spent countless hours shooting free throws in the gym following this moment. He use to coach me in private basketball lessons, and he would mention how much that missed free throws pushed him to be better going forward. Wood, Cedric, Rome, Dru, Linhart, etc. - one of the most deserving groups of guys that never got their One Shining Moment.

  17. I wonder if he has any eligibility left. We could sure use his guard play now! Maybe claim and extra COVID year?

  18. It seems there is very little excitement on this year's signing date. We may have picked up some players who will help, but they and we need a QB as first to tenth priority. After a QB it is OL talent upgrades. With that being obvious to all I've got to believe Joe is too smart not to be in the process of taking care of the QB issue first. The relative quiet leads me to hope that behind the scenes new winning QB talent will be acquired. That's all I want for Christmas! (Cue: Mariah Carey breaking out in "All I Want for Christmas")
