I caught the game against the Citadel today. They were very much in the game until a fair ball that went in foul territory got tangled up with a chair. The umpire ruled it an error and sent the base runners home. that seemed to take all of the wind out of the Zips sails. The Citadel scored 10 more runs to win 13-2. Next up, a Wednesday inter against Cincinnati Bearcats, then a three day weekend against Dukie. Friday the MAC season starts at home with 3 against the Rockets.

Tribble is a lock for 2nd Team IMO. Ali Ali as well, unless someone sneaks him onto the 1st Team. Freeman POY is the lock of the century. Groce does not deserve COY this year. CMU's coach and BUGS' coach deserve it.

I would have to take some time to view the rest of the MAC in order to make predictions. I will say Freeman should be a runaway favorite for MAC POY. Groce should won COY, but I could see Barbee winning it instead. CMU was projected to finish dead last in the MAC, but are currently in 3rd. Even though teams 3-12 all suck I can still see voters giving it to Barbee for "overachieving". Not that I would agree with it.

Illini Zip, this is brilliant, but you can't give him high marks for his tackle because of the yards after contact. Very poor technique, but you expect that from PCCC.

I was watching Prather during pregame warmups & he has the smoothest 3-point stroke on the team. Effortless. If the game slows down for him just a tad he could be something.

Those three games in Cleveland are all Game 7s. He may not be a huge factor but all hands on deck is the mantra.
