  1. And all I want for Christmas is a big who can rebound. Really, in 3 of our losses to good competition we have been outrebounded by 20. We are undersized and the word is out to pound the ball inside against the Zips and if you miss no big deal since you can get the offensive rebound and pound it inside again. I know that Groce wants to play fast but you still have to rebound to win basketball games. I don't think anyone on this board would have predicted with all the transfers from bigger programs that we would have difficulty rebounding the ball. I hope Groce finds some answers before the MAC season begins.

  4. Gotta get a collective going soon or it will continue to get uglier. At least enough to retain some of the guys.

  5. Yep, certainly an uphill battle. It would appear that a schedule many questioned as adequate has been more than enough. Here's hoping it prepared them well for the MAC season.

  6. yes. It's marketing, you'll be surprised how much programs pay attention to who is recruiting who. Get one good offer at a top school in a conference then you can expect other schools in that conference to offer as well. FOMO is real.

  7. Due to the transfer portal, I think there is probably a lot of teams around the country learning just how difficult it is to add a bunch of players to your roster at one time. Although, I think our situation is a bit of an extreme with 5 transfers and 3 true freshman. And of the 5 returning players only Scott, Nate and Tavari had really seen the court before this year. Amani not so much and Marvin redshirted last year. There will be some turnover again next year, but hopefully we will have established a much stronger core and it will be far less disruptive.

  8. Yes. Their rights belong to the teams who drafted them last year as I understand MLS rules.

  9. Were Dyson and Malik not eligible for this year's draft because they were drafted last year?

  12. FYI, we are now in a recruiting dead period - meaning no visits can be made to campus or coaching visits to homes until 1/5/2025. That said, communication can still continue. 12/28/2024 is the last day for players to enter their name into this portal window. There are a few exceptions though: players on teams in the playoffs will have a 5 day window to enter the portal once their team is eliminated and grad transfers can enter at any time. If there is a head coach change, another window will open specifically for players on that team. Players have the ability to sign with a team despite the portal being closed for entry. Generally, players will sign before 2nd semester begins for schools on 2 semester terms. Otherwise, the portal will reopen for 10 days after the spring.

  13. Something must be going on within the program. These losses to the portal are crippling. We cannot build. All we can do is hope to replace with new, unproven talent. I think we all know how that will turn out. I agree that it is so bad it's comical because I would rather laugh than cry. So why are these tears welling up in my eyes?

  14. For those keeping track, Murphy and K. Davis are the only players left from Moorhead’s first recruiting class. Maybe Adams if he decides to return.
