  1. Great gesture from Indiana. Imagine telling Enrique 5 years ago he'd have an NBA All Star and Olympic Gold Medalist at his high school jersey dedication.

  2. I think the new "Outback" student only thing with the AK Rowdies in the JAR is a great idea. I hope the students actually care to take advantage of it.

  3. I hope you're right, but I'm skeptical. Sans last week's sparsely attended Tuesday night tilt the Zips have been out-of-sight-out-of-Ohio since early December. I fear they've slipped off Joe Akron's radar and the JAR will be 35% capacity. Friday night will be a little different...I predict 50% capacity. Regardless, two of the eight walk up tickets sold will be to GA fans who will be sitting in my reserved seats when I arrive.

  4. Cavs lose and Enrique not even listed as being available. Worst of all worlds. 😊

  5. I am tuned out of the playoffs specifically, and uninterested in this so-called college football generally. The sport has always been equal measures of corruption (academic fraud, etc.) and the β€œhaves vs. the have-nots". Today it's markedly worse. Rich universities like Ohio State can now buy championships outright while 75% of D1 teams get poached in the portal, having to rebuild every year. I don't see how this can continue. I am a UA fan to the end, but what kind of sports world are we living in now, specifically in the G5? It seems like a hopeless task no matter who the coach is. If you're on the bottom in this circumstance it's far too likely that the bottom is where you remain without NIL money, which UA and the rest of the MAC does not have. It's now one year and out for 20-40% of your "varsity". How could any coach build a team like this? No time to develop, no time to build. It's just bailing out water from a sinking ship or putting on a new roof and then you find out your foundation just collapsed.

  7. My reasoning was just that it is the first game back from break, and against toledo

  8. Over Ohio, you think?

  9. I liked what I saw of them at the game at SVSM. The team seemed to be coming together. They have some talent. Dru seemed to be in command and the kids seemed engaged.

  10. After starting the season 0-6 Dru seems to have righted the ship, winning 7 of his last 10. The Dukes presently sit at 7-9, good for 3rd place in the A-10.

  11. Edit: Added schedule to first post so it would be at the top of this thread.

  13. I think the Ohio U crowd will likely be hurt by the 6:00 p.m. start.

  16. Yep she is listed on the roster now. I want to see her out there blocking shots. 😊

  17. Well done! Looks like they picked up Ellen Kinnaird from the volleyball team, she got 60 seconds PT at EMU according to GoZips.com (isn't that 1 minute?). So we're up to 8 on the available roster. Winning with 7! Wow.

  18. The "system" has drained whatever interest I've had for NCAA football completely from me. I'm hanging on by a thread to NCAA DI basketball, men's and women's. Two threads for college soccer. @Blue & Gold is right, how do you do your job as a head coach - why do you want to do the job of a head coach - even at a MAC level school? I've always poo-pooed the comments made here regarding dropping football, dropping back to lower level football, etc. But maybe there's a point where you say, "why not?" Especially while we are in the "budget crisis" we've been in since God knows how long? Maybe there's a point where you just say "Enough!", tell the MAC see you later, and explore dropping down? It's not like it's going to hurt attendance at games, maybe season tickets and sponsors money, and seat holders that want to say they belong to a DI program. Maybe the Good Ol' Days of seeing your team in a FCS or DII, DIII Championship race would bring in at least the same number of fans and make it fun again. This post-season of NIL and Transfer portal news is simply insane and unsustainable. When it all collapses, and it will, where will the Zips stand? Just like @Blue & Gold, this is just my humble opinion....
