Folks are really moving the goal post down the field now saying no mid major schools have consistent relevancy in 25 years. WTF does that have to do with us not being able to score a single damn point at home against Wyoming.3 points
-
Agreed, and that's where the MAC is getting it as wrong as the University of Akron. Emphasizing an overly expensive sport that in which they have no chance of success on a national level.2 points
-
That's like claiming to be the tallest midget. If the MAC kicked Akron out of the conference, the MAC might go from being the ~25th rated conference in hoops to the 27th or 28th. Akron basketball isn't earning the MAC any at-large bids and isn't winning any tournament games so it's not adding anything additional for the conference. Akron basketball has been good, but it hasn't been good enough, like a Gonzaga or a MVC days Wichita State, to carry the conference on its back. It would take that level of success for the MAC to cater to Akron's demands. Football is what drives MAC decisions. Basketball is a distant #2. All other sports are irrelevant.2 points

Western Michigan came back and defeated UNH 2-1. Good outcome for the Zips.1 point

It has to do with the broader topic that Akron Football is so embarrassing, why are we even bothering anymore? It's not moving the goalposts, it's pointing out how much of a scam the entire proposition. The moving the goalpost commentary is the people trying to defend why Akron is blowing millions on a D-1 Football program, when it can't even score a point against the Mountain West juggernaut of Wyoming (obvious sarcasm). Like what possible good press/advertising/branding is there from that? None. And ZERO mid-majors are benefitting from playing football.1 point

Not his fault. He told the QB to take care of the ball and the kicker to make the FG.1 point

UNH’s coach left after the 2023 season to go to NC State and took a few of the best players with him. UNH has yet to recover after his departure Regardless, St John’s will be a tough opponent for sure.1 point

What if we didn't do that through the athletic department, and did it through the actual departments that do the actual work of education?1 point

The quotes in this article....about Richie Laryea...are absolutely glowing there are so many quotes that I am not allowed to post all of them.... please click on the article....and read about former Zip Richie https://wakingthered.com/2025/08/31/20909/osorio-was-the-goal-hero-but-laryea-vilsaint-play-big-hand-in-toronto-fc-draw-with-cf-montreal/ CanMNT and TFC veteran Richie Laryea occupied the role of a center-back, instead of his usual role at full-back. However, Laryea was everywhere, making deep runs all the way to the CFMTL box, and sometimes controlling possession as an advanced No. 8. “Richie has become, for us, wherever we need somebody, for whatever reason, he just goes there, and he’s excelled in everything I’ve asked him to do,” (head coach) Fraser said. “And I’ve asked him to do probably six or seven different things this year.” Goalscorer and the man of the moment, Osorio, was also full of praise for Laryea, acknowledging that people might already know how good he is, but Laryea may not be getting the proper respect he deserves. “I can’t speak highly enough about that guy,” Osorio said. “He is an unbelievable competitor, an unbelievable footballer. He plays where he’s told to play, and he does the job. I think a lot of people know how good he is, but actually, I think even he deserves even more respect than he actually gets. Because that guy is a top-level player.”1 point

Ball lives are being recuperated at the women’s game as well. It seems the survival of soccer balls is a point of emphasis for both men and women’s soccer this season. There has to be one student that played HS soccer and aspires to be a TV announcer that’s better that this kid. He is painful to listen to.1 point

And I said nothing about socialism or communism. There is no need to trot out these boogeymen models in defense of plutocrats or oligarchs. You will never be one and neither will I. The populace's constant defense of plutocrats and oligarchs astounds me.1 point

If he's here, and I have heard it both ways, he competes with the forwards and wings for minutes. The Duquesne kid is the "viable backup big" who will share minutes with Amani.1 point

Jalen Kitna is a creep!! Hopefully we light him up. When, not if, we go up by multiple scores - I wouldn't mind a blatantly late hit and/or blindsided from summers or Cooper. Disgusting!!0 points
