  3. Malik Henry made his first appearance of the season for Toronto FC II last night after 15 appearances with the first team. He scored a goal in the 29th minute and subbed out in the 60th. Unfortunately, he's not listed on the bench for tonight's MLS match.

  4. https://mozelles.com/ One of the best restaurants I the Southeast. Lunch and dinner. Even if you are staying uptown, you'll have to drive. It's close, but not a walk I would make this time of year. https://andrewsrestaurantsws.com/young-cardinal/ One of my all time favorite breakfast places. Get the sausage gravy as a side in place of potatoes and pour it over the biscuit they give you. Uptown. https://www.foothillsbrewing.com/welcome/?returnUrl=https://www.foothillsbrewing.com/ If you are staying at the Courtyard uptown, take 20 steps to the right and you'll be there. I'm not a craft beer person, but I do think this is one of the best in NC. https://www.smallbatchws.com/ I don't like bourbon, but the burgers here are great. It's by the big Marriott uptown. https://www.villagetavern.com/. Cool place at Reynolda Village. Not in the city. Close to campus. Thirsty Pallet is an uptown dive bar. I love the place. Walkable from anywhere uptown. Tailgating food: Mountain Fried Chicken. Close to the stadium. You can't go wrong with a fried chicken shop that has the tagline "It Ain't Greasy". If you get sucked into the whole Lexington BBQ thing, remember to get it sliced, not chopped. Someone mentioned they were staying at the Courtyard by the stadium. Pickings a slim, but Putters is a good choice. If you are parking at the basketball arena and not tailgating, but want some drinks, Putters is close. https://www.putterspatioandgrill.com/ If you want to see some shops in natural setting Reynolda Village is good but you have to drive to it. Trade Street has some shops you could look at. The Learfield Radio studio is on Trade Street and on Saturdays you can watch the guys do highlights. If you are a student and want to be around people your age, take an Uber to Burke Street Pub. That area is where the students go. Do us all a favor and clean yourself up when you go. Represent well. I've been at this place on a Friday night. The girls dress and look unlike what you see in Akron. They are rich kids who look rich and dress like rich kids. Don't be a slob.

  6. Wow good for him... He called everyone out and he is right... the season has started and no one knows what the eligibility rules are that's shameful... for everyone.

  7. I guess we'll know more about our matchup with UNLV after Thursday. In any case, it will be a tall task to knock them off even at home.

  8. It will be a lot of fun if we can score on our first drive 😄

  9. I watched most of the Robert Morris game. They aren’t good, but Wagner is worse. Both teams struggled to get any push in the run game and neither team’s defensive front looked that impressive. RM scored on a blocked punt and then on short field position in the first half. They scored on a post-corner route in the 3rd where the WR reversed field and outran the defense - two of Wagner’s DBs took bad angles. I didn’t watch all of the fourth quarter, but I know the same receiver scored another touchdown. Regardless of the Zips QB situation, this should be an easy win in a few weeks as I don’t think RM will be able to move the ball much on our defense and I seriously doubt they’ll be able to stop our run game.

  10. This is a near perfect summation of where this team is at. Well said. - I do however disagree about Bunch's physicality. I love it. I want his intelligence to improve but his physicality is much needed. So far, the defensive strategy vs Akron is either to pack the box or be physical on the ball. Bunch helps keep that at bay; he's a smaller Haaland when it comes to contact, not going down easily, etc. - Agreed on Sears and our entire wing/midfield attack needs to be more aggressive in general. Attack the space at the top of the box more and fire more shots on goal. Do that and Remi will start to feel the freedom up front. - Really hate our set pieces in general. That needs to improve. - The sky is the limit with this team; should be a very fun season!

  11. Last night's game was one that will be talked about for some time: perfect weather, great opponent, team effort, 90 minutes of pressure on the Wake goal, great coaching match. We still have much to work on, but we are coming together and putting the pieces in place. My random points: Ty Morck was our best midfielder last night I love how the staff is playing Sears into a formidible attacker. I just wish he would take defenders on more often. If there is nothing there cross sooner, I don't care if we are short. Running onto the ball gains an advantage over a static defender Sam Bunch has got to cool his physicality. Last night he deserved two yellow cards = one red The defense is solid. Freddy and Matthew are easy to build around. McQuire and Bunch are nice additions. Wake had only one attack that was dangerous. We had a half dozen. Our corners have got to improve. We have little production from them and that is a waste of opportunity. The upside for this team is enormous. Remi needs the mids to be more dangerous to open space for him. O'Rourke looks ready. Jack Sullivan has come on, but Jack Roman has yet to find his form Cudos to the Wake goalie. He was outstanding. He kept the game from being 3-0.

  12. Fa Fa late in the 1st half and starting the 2nd was a great sub. Fa Fa was a beast, and Remi came back at crunch time with rested legs. And, of course subbing Noa paid off quickly. Brilliant work by him from Paiva’s long ball to force the GK error and stay with it for the goal. What a goal!!! I love the depth of this team and look forward to seeing them come together like last night.

  13. Yeah the Polar Bears didn't have an answer. Glad I'm only a band dad at Jackson and don't have to get frustrated at the football team 😃

  14. Those are the remarks of an exemplary head coach and leader. Factual. Accountable. Supportive. Forward thinking.

  15. I've been impressed by Sears' physicality and ability to take on defenders for such a young player. My one critique of him is that he needs to get crosses in quicker. He's probably used to being able to get by defenders in high school and it's an adjustment he'll likely make over time.

  16. A couple of thoughts on the game: - Sam Bunch is a great addition. I am concerned though his aggressive style will produce a good number of cards - London Sears always seems dangerous with the ball. Excellent recruit - Wake goalie was freaky athletic. Too bad one mistake cost him a superb game - Possession was impressive - Backline was stellar with three consecutive clean sheets - I want to see more Ignacio Alem, he was really coming on the end of last season - Great atmosphere on a beautiful night Go Zips!

  18. It appears our coaching staff wasn't smart enough to see if their star QB transfer had actual eligibility. Why would you be optimistic?
