@lmao at the horse cops!I parked down at Polsky, and there was some mix up with where to take the shuttle to the stadium. A large group of us ended up taking the shuttle to the union and walking from there. It was pretty surreal to see the lot down by Knight and the law school filled with tailgaters, and there were so many people on campus! I see now why they insisted on the wristbands, it made it easier for the ushers to keep the students in their sections. The student seats were better than I expected too - no light pole right in front of you blocking the field. Hoping on the right shuttle back was easy enough and there was next to no traffic downtown to worry about. It did seem kind of wrong to hear Tom W speak instead of Mack... but oh well... The sound did not line up with the video on the big board, and when they did like the kiss cam, they did sucky angles and big groups of people. After, I went home to my Highland Square neighborhood, and there were so many students in zips gear grabbing Chipotle and other food and I heard a guy in a tOSU shirt comment that he was surprised that Akron had so many fans.

The thing is, all Newt really needs is a skeleton of a building with the basics (plumbing, electricity, ventilation) in the dimensions he wants and he can get a few million from the NRA and other shooting groups to put the rest of the stuff in. Ideally, it would be two floors with an air range upstairs, and the down stairs smallbore range would be large enough to shoot 50m lengthwise and 50ft width wise. Of course all electronic targets complete with live feed scoreboards, a couple of changing rooms, a team lounge/kitchen, and a storage/gun room. With a range that size, UA could and would hold national and international shooting events. Newt has already proved he can host a national event when the NRA 3-p junior air rifle match was shot in the field house a couple years back....but Newt can't even get paid a full time coach's salary for his efforts, so I don't see anything happening soon.

with $5 parking and my $115 student parking pass now invalid. I might as well just hop on the city bus and get off on exchange st by the stadium... or would there be a way to sneak into a regular lot. And what about those Friday games where tailgaters and students will clash? I mean there are Friday night classes and students will be pissed enough if their regular lot is closed, but then to be charged $5 anywhere they try to park? This should be interesting...

Wish I got close to a $150,000 pay raise by switching jobs. Hell, I wish I made $150,000.

I was reading about these elsewhere and that is exactly what they did. They got a lot of input from the players as to how they wanted to see their uniforms. The one I don't like is the gray and white that has no green or gold on it, but the gray helmets are pretty sweet.

actually, those are her own every day glasses. if you looked at the pics from ncaa's you would see that she had tape on the bridge to keep them from sliding down her nose. -

I'm not so sure about the success of Rhodes. Have you heard anything he has done about promoting season ticket sales for the rifle team? They're offering a family package for only $2500. That includes four tickets to every Zips home match, parking pass, transportation and tickets to the 2010 WIRC Championships, and an Anschutz 2002 autographed by 2009 NCAA Air Rifle Champion Jenna Compton. The VIP season ticket package includes the above plus the option to purchase beer at each event for a reasonable $3000 (plus $500 donation to the Z-Fund per ticket). -
I came across this on collegehumor.com. Their caption is "Whoa, you didn't tell me you were a screamer." And then I read the caption. I think that's Ced just on the left edge.

I remember you talking about tailgating just outside shrank, but just an fyi, they're doing some parking garage project down in that area so that lot has also been turned into the access way to get into the actual shrank garage. I don't know if you're still thinking that lot, but you might want to do some checking around to make sure it's still going to be available etc.

Barbara Boxer is an ungreatful B****

It's quite obvious that most of the board is male, from the inappropriate title of this thread to the comments diminishing a real concern for professional women everywhere. She was obviously ignorant in military protocol of titles and what is considered respectful and what is not, however she is doing nothing but asserting herself by asking to be referred to by her title. Whether she worked for that title or it was handed to her, it doesn't matter. It is her title and she has every right to ask to be called using that title. If it was another man doing this it would be fine, but since it's a woman asserting herself she becomes a bitch. That's a bunch of bull. -
what is the point of this thread?

Nice to see that the status of the rifle team has finally risen in the ranks of the great GP! The biggest difference I noticed (and have mentioned elsewhere) is the reorganization of the academic support services. He brought in Anne Jorgenson to head up advising and then changed the study table set up so Anne heads up the whole academic support. I remember trying to help some of the football players understand their schedule that Shane what's his name gave them, only to find that he had put them in conflicting classes (different classes at the same time) or forgetting to put them in their lab. Shane was single handedly responsible for several athletes becoming academically ineligible. Finally, most people overlook the class attendance policy, but it did have a pretty big impact on both grades and attitude within the department.

I registered over at Coogfun.com to read what the houston fans think of their new AD. There are some interesting comments out there and they have already nicknamed Mack "American Dream". you do have to register and you have to wait for account approval before even being able to view the boards.

We whooped their women's basketball LAST year. And the only soccer team in town is Brian Ching's Dynamo. I had forgtten about the women's victory last year, and who would figure that neither Rice nor UH would have men's soccer programs? Thanks for the information.I was looking at the UH athletic site and they have a picture of Mack and his wife giving some sort of three fingered gesture that I presume is a Cougar tradition. It looks like a combination of "Hook 'em Horns" and the middle finger. Seeing as how much UT and the other "old school" Southwestern Conference teams used to look down upon UH, perhaps it is A quick wikipedia search said it was the Cougar Paw.Yeah doesn't look like any cougar paw I've ever seenLittle Joeys cover your ears and eyesI believe the technical term for that hand gesture is "the shocker" and is often used in conjunction with the saying "two in the pink, one in the stink". that's the kinkiest couger paw I've ever seen. -

You guys need to go on the url 'kid posted and let that turd know how you feel about Mack.done.one major thing he did was restructure the athletic academic support. he got rid of the incompetent advisers and got anne jorgenson in there to run that whole department and she is amazing. the way study hall was ran and the accountability is a bit different as well, and the academic numbers show how successful it was. the class attendance policy was huge as well. -
