  1. It's one game. We will get our chance for revenge in 2 weeks. In other news has anyone gone to the micro brew on Sherman called Aqueduct? The beer wasn't that great, but its worth going to to check out the basement.
  2. Lets go for 31, boys
  3. Yeah, I definitely think the package is designed for people who want to make those trip to Cleveland a full event and intend to see more than just the Zips play. Personally, I have no interest in it, but figured I'd pass it along in case one of you might.
  4. I'll take a win. Doesn't matter to me if it's by 1 or 20.
  5. Woah, high roller over here. Do you have a private donor helping you fund this purchase?
  6. Joe Akron spending $250 on Zips tickets? Shenanigans!
  7. I got $50 It's worth that for it being a conversation piece alone. Someone comes into my office: *looks at jar* "What's that junk" Me: "Boy, I have a story for you..."
  8. I'm wanting to say it was $40M but they were able to refinance some debt to reduce it to $20M
  9. I figured I'd pass on some information that I stumbled upon. You can buy tickets to all 14 MACT games for $73. I wasn't aware of this deal, but maybe you guys were. "So this is crazy but true. If you go on-line, you can only buy single game tickets. If you call the main # at the Q, you can only buy single-game tickets. But if you have the top-secret information provided by Dick, you can buy an all-tournament pass (including every men's and women's game) for $73, which includes the $5 processing fee. I first called 216-420-2161 and left a voicemail message. I got a return call from Josh, whose direct number is 216-420-2780. He said that I was welcome to pass his name and number on to others interested in this deal." http://www.csnbbs.com/thread-808694-page-2.html
  10. Not trying to defend the troll, but schools make more by playing cupcakes at home as opposed to agreeing to a home and home with other schools. You see a lot of guaranteed games on a lot of P5 team schedules.
  11. I'd be pleasantly surprised to see Dambrot coach another 10 years.
  12. Dambrot would be 59 by the start of next season and he has made it clear that he has no intentions of coaching for the remainder of his life. At the very best he would be a stop gap replacement to buy them time to find someone long-term. That has never been OSU style. OSU makes hires that they feel will provide them long-term stability.
  13. I didn't realize it was troll season already...
  14. Having to beat CMU in a semi isn't what scares me as I don't think they are that good of a team. What does scare me is the fact they play an uptempo style of play. That could create a lingering effect in the final as Big Dog and our jump shooters could have tired legs.
  15. I hear the same is true for John Cooper at Miami. The way coaching salaries are rising, I expect that to be a common trend for MAC schools to have in football and men's basketball in the coming years. Sticking with a coach for a year or two longer than you want because you can't afford firing him.
  16. I went under 40 because I thought I was voting on Kwan and Big Dog's total missing Antino
  17. Wasn't sure where to post this, but it was a really nice write up http://www.ncaa.com/news/basketball-men/article/2017-02-15/college-basketball-look-teams-dominating-their-conferences
  18. If I was to make a list of the top 10 teams I didn't want to play round 1, WVU would make that list. http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/bracketology
  19. I'd buy your money metric more if it wasn't for the fact that the 10 person selection committee consists of guys from Ohio (Bobcats), Northeastern, UNC-Asheville, New Mexico, Creighton and BYU. Financially Ohio's AD would benefit from Akron getting an at-large or a higher seed as Ohio would get a stake in the credits. I get you have your mind made up so there is no point in arguing.
  20. I know that a lot of people hate sabermetrics, but honestly the current selection process favors the large schools (you feel it is intentionally, I feel it's just a byproduct of all the other changes). RPI is garbage and it is why it has a lost of its credibility yet that's the 1st thing mid-major fans like yourself turn to for justification. We need better metrics that carry more weight. I hate Kenpom as it doesn't value who wins or loses. I do like the idea behind ESPN BPI (strength of record) rankings. It could probably use some tweaking to improve, but the concept is great.
  21. Can we get the bidding started on that Olive Jar?...
  22. UConn could come in and compete in MAC football in a short amount of time I feel. They wouldn't water down MAC football like UMass did. Their basketball program is also vastly better than UMass. I'd demand 4 OOC basketball games (2 home and 2 on the road) per year.
  23. RPI doesn't have the same pull it once did as conferences (MVC) learned how to game the system. What's gained a lot of steam is the who did you beat and where did you beat them mantra. In conferences like the ACC teams have 12, possible more, opportunities to pick up quality wins in conference play alone. Mid-majors don't have those opportunities as even the best mid-majors only have 2-3 quality teams. The deck is certainly stacked against mid-majors, but I don't think the selection committee has attendance figures and endowment funds in front of them when making decisions.
